Rolling Rock rolls eastward

Sure, it never had the gritty street cred of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Nor did it have the "This is what Bruce Springsteen would drink"-appeal of Budweiser. Nor, frankly, did it taste as good as, say, a Sierra Nevada.

But, dang it, Rolling Rock beer had style. From the weirdo green bottle, to the enigmatic "33" printed inside the label, to the mysterious "Latrobe, Pennsylvania" from which it magically flowed forth, Rolling Rock was the beer for little people ... especially the little people who had good taste but didn't want to spend 8 dollars for a six pack of frou-frou beer.

Suddenly, it turns out that Rolling Rock -- now a subsidiary of megabrewer Anheuser-Busch -- is moving to Newark, New Jersey, as Scott Simon reports on NPR. Newark?! Can cool beer emanate from Newark?
