When I think of handkerchiefs, I think of the plain white piece of cloth that my dad always carried in his pocket just in case of a sudden sneeze. To some people though, the handkerchief is much more than that -- an old top-drawer item that was always at grandma's house or a snazzy item that can spruce up any outfit.

Gillian Webster, who launched Atishoo, decided to bring back (or modernize) the handkerchief for women. Her designs are quite different, comprised of unique patterns and an array of colors.

The website points out that although the handkerchief is not exactly the newest fashion accessory, it can serve some pretty innovative purposes -- the handkerchief can add "a new dimension to any outfit when tied to a handbag, used as a neckerchief or looped together as a belt."
