British Fashion at the Met

It's a good time to be in New York. The worst heat of summer is gone, the fall social scene is starting up, and the US Open is in full swing ... but what's even hotter than all that is the Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibit on UK fashion.

"AngloMania: Tradition and Transgression in British Fashion" focuses on the years 1976 to 2006, and reminds us that we owe a lot more to British fashion than punk haircuts and those funny-looking beefeater hats.

Still not convinced that you should go to a museum instead of going shopping on Fifth Avenue? What if I told you that the exhibit is underwritten by Burberry? Now are you willing to go to the Met?

Good. But you best hurry. The exhibit's last day is September 4.
