There are a couple basic types of celeb fashion charity auctions: ones where they decorate things like jeans or T-shirts and sell them for charity or ones where they sell their own things. I much prefer the latter if only for the gawk factor. Seventeen magazine is currently hosting a celebrity handbag auction on eBay to raise both money and awareness for breast cancer research. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society, the American Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Some of the bags are a bit dated (the Chanel from Anjelica Houston looks old enough to date back to her Jack Nicholson days) and some are a bit less than spectacular (yes, Amy Smart's Coach bag I'm looking at you). My favorite is the Marc Jacobs bag from Selma Blair. Her note mentions that it is her favorite and I can see why, it's a classic black satchel that one can easily imagine on the arm of the always well-dressed Miss Blair. The auctions still have a week of bidding left.
