Project Runway scandal
Filed under: Fashion, News, Best of the Season, Runway Report
On Wednesday, Project Runway will send one of the four remaining designers a'packing. And in the midst of the competition's excitement, Project Runway may be facing a potential scandal. During the group show in Byrant Park, one of the designers (Laura Bennett) accused another designer (Jeffrey Sebelia) of outsourcing his sewing. Sebelia -- who was known for shabby garment construction during the monitored period of the show -- had turned out a very impressive full collection, with uncharacteristically well-sewn garments. Tim Gunn, the show's design guru had commented that Sebelia's collection was "very ambitious." In the meantime, Bravo producers and executives have investigated the accusation, but refuse to reveal their findings. As for what will happen, well, I guess we'll find out on Wednesday. But one thing is certain, if Sebelia did outsource his sewing he's going to be the one who is "Auf'd!"

If Jeffrey cheated I hope he is caught. I think it awfully "coinkydink" that he and Santino are close friends. Who better to help him with his crappy construction?

The only reason Jeffrey made it this far is because he adds so much drama to the show. He should have been auf'd after that atrocious dress he made for Angela's mom-- it looked like a junior high sewing class project.

I think Jeffrey has a horrible personality which makes him very ugly to watch. So he's a recovering alcoholic huh??? Well he has skipped the humble teachings...what an ass he makes of himself. He should've been ousted loooong ago...............someone feels sorry for him....let his mom do that job...he's not a designer!!!! Ah veeda zay!!!!!!

Jeffrey is an incredibly talented designer and he deserves completely to be in the final four. With the exception of Angela's mother's hideous garment, Jeffrey's designs are amazing. So what if he wasn't the greatest sewer on the show? He get's a max of 2 days to make a garment. He had months to create his line for Fashion Week. Just because you don't like someone's personality doesn't mean you should discount their talent.

Jeffrey seems to dwell in the land of LA trash. All of his designs reek of Saturday night at the "in" Sunset Strip hotels where girls looking to score something show up dressed like hookers.
His dress for Angela's mom was just pure ugly.

It's absolutely Jeffrey's personality that overshadows any talent he may have - ...successful designers do not treat their clients as rudely as he treated Angela's mom. The dress was spiteful and a childish gesture on his part. I love PR, but I'm getting a little tired of the obligatory villain...Wendy was fascinating to watch - an actual bitch; Santino and Jeffrey just play jerks on TV.
Furthermore, Jeffrey doesn't seem to have any range. Everything is "edgy" or "L.A." - I thought his couture dress was horrifying.
As for whether or not he outsourced his sewing, I guess we'll find out. If he did, he absolutely needs to go.

Hopefully we'll the last of Jeffrey tonight. I believe the only reason he's been kept around is for ratings. His "designs" are more trash than fashion. While many designers have egos and attitudes, it's usually after they've proven their talent. Ol' Jeffrey's got it backwards. I don't know which sucks worse - his personalty or talent. They're both pretty low.

Well, the producers obviously didn't think that Jeffrey cheated because he definitely showed at Fashion Week. Check out the website. There are pics from the show, his designs are on the runway.
I love his designs. It isn't my style, but he is definitely the most creative! I hope he wins!
