Seven days of Styledash: Fall nail polish
If you're interested in updating your nail polish shades this fall, the one thing you should keep in mind is to match the polish to the hues of the season overall. For instance, if you are wearing a chocolate brown tweed dress (a very popular style this fall, mind you), you don't want your nails to be painted the same bubble gum pink that you sported all summer with your metallic strappy sandals. This fall, everything from shoes to hats is all about dark, rich, sophisticated colors. If you're interested in trying out a few of these new shades, here is the Styledash guide to finding the perfect nail color for fall.
Sunday: On a lazy Sunday afternoon, you find yourself lounging around in yoga pants and a hoodie. No sense in being too dramatic or too high fashion. For that reason, I would suggest trying something subtle like OPI's "Chocolate Shake-speare." Monday: Back at the office, you find yourself wishing it was still the weekend. When your boss isn't looking, why not treat yourself to post-lunch manicure using Chanel's Shanghai Red. The chip-free polish and the single stroke application ensures a very short wait-time.
Tuesday: An important business meeting with corporate means that you need to look no-nonsense and all business from your head down to your nails. You've got on your best suit, your best heels, and your best bag, and the finishing touch is Nars Bohemia -- a subtle, pinkish brown that speaks to your infinite wisdom in all matters work-related.
Wednesday: It's hump day. You need a pick-me-up to get you through the week. And nothing says, "I will survive" better than a bold nail polish in a smart-looking eggplant. Try Opi's Eatin' Eggplant and give yourself a boost of color confidence.
Thursday: With a spinning class at 6AM, followed by a lunch with your best girl friend, you're feeling like nothing could get your down. You're so upbeat and fit that you can ever make black nail polish look cheery. Try out MAC's nail polish in Black Top.Friday: It's Friday and you can practically taste the freedom. After work, you're joining your pals from the office for a post-work gossip session. You're ready to dish it out and drink it up. Bad behavior? Perhaps -- but you've earned it in life and you've earned it with your nails, decked out in Lancome's Aurora Nail Lacquer.
Saturday: With an early morning yoga class and a mid-day brunch, you're feeling pretty Zen, considering the week you've had. Let the outside world see your inner peace with OPI's Blushingham Palace.

How many people actually have time to change their nail polish color on a daily basis to match their outfits? I'm lucky I find time to get mine done every 2 weeks!

A list of nail polish colors and their manufactures are posted for what colors will be popular for the fall season, It's a shame that the most affordable companies are not listed. How about a little consideration for us plain folk.

I have been in search of that delicious dark red brown that Drew Barrymore seems to have captured so perfectly for years now. US Magazine finally suggested it last month, and I searched everywhere, having to wait for it to come out in this fall's nail color packages. I got it at my local Boston Beauty Store.
It's called Roc The Crock and it's by Essie. It's fabulous. Go check it out. No other brand has been able to better capture a dark red brown that I know of, and I've been looking in CVS for years.

I love Dark Side of the Moon from Lippmann Collection!
It is THE hottest nail polish for fall! Its the color Fergie was wearing at the VMA's... I really love this nail polish line it's a little pricey but better than anything else I have ever used.

Ummm...I don't think this was meant to actually suggest that we change our polish color every day...just to give an idea of what's out there!

Why not tell folks about PEACEKEEPER Cause-Metics nail paints.
They are low in toxins (on a scale of toxicity 0 being water-5 being most toxic...Peacekeepers is .3...OPI is 4.7) There is a nice selection of colors. They even have a bottom/top coat. All the after tax proceeds go to groups that support women's issues.
Who knew that nail polish was so toxic and can affect your immune system, hormones, energy level and more. So if you want to feel zen on a Saturday and smart at a meeting use a nail polish that isn't going to contaminate your body!
