Take homemade pie recipes, local seamstresses, your favorite grandmother and throw it all together and you've got what is known as Pecan Pie Couture -- the creation of Clint Zeagler, a Georgia native who's turning heads with his unique clothing designs. An article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution gives a good rundown on the development of the line.

Zeagler's approach to success involves using Southern traditions that he grew up with in Sylvania, Georgia. His grandmother, or Nana, owned the Townhouse Restaurant, which is where Zeagler draws the pecan pie reference, based on its success at the establishment.

Everything about Pecan Pie Couture is done locally -- local knitters and textile mills, and even Cherokee beaders on a Native American reservation in North Carolina.

Some of his t-shirts are, well, different -- one says "Baked with love," another "Can't you see my hairnet? That means I'm working!" I think it's a good idea to bring your roots, especially Southern, into fashion design, but after looking through the current fall line -- I can't say I'm too impressed!
