I used to laugh/cry when my sisters and I would go shopping and they would wail and be depressed for days when they realized they could no longer fit into a size 0 (my sisters have skinny genes in this family). Size 0! I used to tell them size 0 should be illegal anyway.

Apparently, though, while the rest of America is suffering from an increase in morbid obesity, there are some people for whom size 0 is too big, and it's not just those banned runway models and Rachel Zoe's clients. For these people, designers like Nicole Miller will introduce negative sizes (that's not what they're really called, but what is smaller than 0?!?!) that have waistlines the circumference of "a soccer ball." Oh, so that's what Mrs. Beckham uses to measure herself...

As long as we don't get down to softballs...
