Escada for kids?
Filed under: Fashion, News, Best of the Season
Munich-based fashion house Escada has just announced that it will soon launch a kids clothing label with the help of Childre Worldwide Fashion. Escada, which is known for its well-tailored, sexy suits, hopes to market the new line to girls under the age of 16. You can look for these designs in department stores starting with the Fall/Winter 2007 collection. Of course, it's no surprise that Escada wants to get into this growing market. Many of Escada's high-end competitors, brands like Ralph Lauren, Burberry and Missoni already have had kids clothes for a few years now. If anything, they're a little behind the curve on this one. But, we'll see how these clothes fly with the under-16 set. I just hope Escada isn't planning on doing smaller versions of the signature wool suit. I don't know many 12-year-olds interested in wearing Baby Tweed Suits.
