Perk up with eye bright
Remember what you learned about the color wheel in your middle school art class? You know -- that there are such things as contrasting and complementary colors? Well, it turns out that makeup and art have a lot in common when it comes to color. For instance, if you are trying to cover something that is red, you neutralize it with green since they are opposite on the color wheel. Or if you are trying to neutralize purple-y brown (that is, by the way, the technical name for the color of under eye circles), use a pale pink. As someone who has fought and lost the dark circle war every day of my life, I know that there is no miracle cure to actually make the tell-tale rings of sleeplessness disappear. But a good cover-up job is still possible. I've found that one of the quickest fixes for under eye circles is Benefit's Eye Bright. The stick makes this concealer easy to use -- just color pink over anything that is purple-y brown and tap lightly with your fingertips to blend. You can toss eye bright in your bag for a midday touch up or wear it alone when you don't feel like wearing full makeup.
