Last Thursday, designer Tom Ford released his newest signature scent Tom Ford Black Orchid with the kind of hype and fanfare you would expect from a famous fashion designer. In a press release for the perfume, Ford confessed to a fascination with the hot house bud saying that orchids are "so beautiful and so chic." He also claims that he has personally cultivated the blackest orchid in the world -- dubbed the Tom Ford orchid -- for which claims to have a patent.
A black orchid? That's funny, because I was under the impression that black orchids are botanically impossible.
Ford admits that his orchid is not exactly black, but is rather "a deep, dark chocolate," but nonetheless, his new perfume "completely captures the essence of the orchid."
Completely captures the essence of the orchid? That's funny, because I was under the impression that orchids had no scent at all.
