Seven Days of Style: i-catching iPods
Filed under: Accessories, Fashion, Stylish Living
We know that the iPod in its purest form is perfect -- black or white goes with everything -- and sure, we love those shiny shiny metallic colors of the Nano, but just like everything else in our stylish lives, we love to accessorize. With the iPod, we can either let the iPod be an accessory all by itself, or embellish it in all kinds of twinkly bling, designer duds, and flirty fashions. Styledash did a little shopping around the web and points you to some things we found that will make your iPod absolutely i-catching. (Consider this a Holiday shopping guide -- if you click on the individual items in the picture, you can find out where to buy.)Sunday - We'll start by going all-in with the King of Bling, Swarovski, which Crystalmini has taken and used to adorn iPods with thousands of tiny crystals -- "one for every song" in your iPod. Your iPod can be all one color, one of a number of pre-made prints, or can even be personalized with initials or custom designs. I'll take one with an "SJG!" That is, if I had $1,499!
Monday - I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this one yet, but TuneBuckle lets you attach your iPod to a belt. If you want to go discreet, TuneBuckle even has a buckle called Full Metal Jacket that hides your iPod behind a metal plate.
Tuesday - Let's just call this the Thomas Pink Affair, because just like an affair, it's dashing on the surface, hiding something naughty underneath. This tie from English designer Thomas Pink hides your iPod on the backside.
Wednesday - Is it wrong to perfectly match your iPod with your sporty chic lavender velour Juicy Couture tracksuit? Absolutely not! Juicy Couture's velour iPod carrying case comes in different color velours, adorned with the Juicy "J" charm, and of course, just like your pants, has "Juicy" emblazoned across its backside.
Thursday - The kidz over at Street Chic aren't stringing you along by putting an iPod on a strap that lets you hang your iPod from your neck. It keeps your music right where it should be -- close to your heart -- and keeps your hands free to do whatever you need. The case comes in different colored leathers that include metallics (how appropriate for this season's trend) and some with designs.
Friday - Okie dokie, it's Tokidoki, one of my new favorite designers. Tokidoki has teamed up with iSkin, which makes cases and protective "skins" for all kinds of electronics, to create a line for the iPod. Don't think that the round-eyed, round-faced characters are all just cute. Take a peek at the Flying Adios, which is a "cute" Grim Reaper.
Saturday - Last, but not least, we can't leave out the high-end designers whose handbags we covet, like Prada, which makes a leather case red, black, and bronze ($215). The cases from Louis Vuitton are also leather, and are in the style of their signature monogram or the Monogram Multicolore ($240). I'm just hoping they do one with Murakami! Burberry's case features their classic Nova Check, and Gucci's case can be had in their signature logo print with the green and red strap, chocolate Guccissima calfskin, and my favorite for making your iPod most definitely i-catching, gold Guccissima leather.
