The Pope wears Prada
Filed under: Accessories, CELEBRITY STYLE, Fashion, Celebrity, News
Forget about the thinly veiled Anna Wintour and her devilish ways! Or at least forget the fact that Prada was her brand of choice because the Italian label has another famous, albeit holier fan: The pope. In an effort to raise money for a charity in Rwanda, the pope has made his modeling debut in a 2007 calendar featuring 14 images of the pontiff at his lakeside home in Castel Gandolfo. In the photographs, the pope wears bright red Prada shoes! Of course, Pope Benedict XVI is a well-documented fan of finery, but I have to admit, seeing the man himself in his Prada loafers is unexpected. To Benedict: Those shoes are fierce!

Too bad: can't see the shoes in this photo! Quirky, and a MUCH better reason to travel to Italy than the wedding of any two over-rated, spoiled celebrities.

Right on. As long as your intentions are good then why not?

That's great that the Pope wears Prada. It would be far better, though, if he proclaimed to his millions of followers that they should wear condoms.

Oh, please. If the only ding you can give the Catholic Church now is that the Pope wears Prada...you might want to get a life. ..one of your own, perhaps.

Based on his limited vocabulary and computer inexperience, Ah-Nuh reveals himself to be an attention-deprived school child, probably between 12 and 14 years of age. Go finish your homework, little boy. LMAO!

It is a real shame that a man such as the pope can't be a better example of what he is suppose to represent. A true follower of the God he is suppose to be serving would mean a humble, and giving life style. When are the roman chatholics going to learn that giving generously is good, but know where your money is going, so it helps build Gods kingdom and not a mere humans

This is such a disgrace.. The pope should be in sandals and rags, like Jesus was...to be more Christlike,,you cannot ask your followers to do something youre not willing to do yourself..ugh...

Oh please, for all you cry babies in here, for one I'm sure that the pope didn't spend a dime for the shoes, like most celebrities, they are flourished with gifts. Secondly, the bigger picture is being missed. I would wear red pradas in the name of a charity fundraiser. Oh and chris, you have a perverse mentality that most good atheist should have.

I found it most intersting that most of you focused on the Prada shoes and no one mentioned the lakeside home!!!!!!!!!!
This notion of how many starving people would the price of these shoes feed is getting damn old. How many starving children could we feed if you sold your home, your car, your boat, YOUR shoes! EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE has something that they do not need. It does not mean they do not deserve it. They more than likely worked damn hard for it and do deserve it. I give money, food and clothing to charity, but I am still keeping my Coach purse and I don't care if it cost me $250. I deserve it!

You complain about people having things they don't need Susan,
then turn right around and talk about the thing you don't need BUT are going to keep. Understand what a hypocrite is? OK, The church gives money, food and clothing to the poor to the tune of millions a year.
So let them keep the estate that has been the Vaticans for hundreds
of years.

Ok bright red prada shoes, and a long white gown posing for a calendar is this man a pontiff or a pinup. Actually I would have to say my first impression would be he's a sceaming queen.

I think Susan hit on something significant. We all want to see the hungry fed, the homeless sheltered, the poor taken care of. But the sad reality is that we want to see someone else doing the legwork to make it happen. How many of US have worked in a foodbank, donated time to a Habitat for Humanity project, or even dumped a few bucks in a Salvation Army bucket? Susan has at least put her money where her mouth is. You GO, girl! And, by the way, keep the purse! You do indeed deserve it!

If his shoes is the only thing you can bitch about, get a life. You should try living without any privicy for a while, think you could handle having everybody in the world watching you to bitch about what you do or wear?

Maybe the question should be how many pair of red shoes does this pope have? He has had pictures of his red shoes on the net before.
