Mood phones, like high-tech mood rings
Just when I thought my cell phone had all of the features I could possibly imagine, now I hear about mood phones. These phones, from Panasonic, analyze your voice tone while you're talking and change the color of the glowing LED light accordingly. One problem I foresee with the mood phone is that it looks like the mood light thing is on the back of the phone. Hmm. So, basically, everyone but me will be able to see what kind of mood I'm in. Great. Am I supposed to be constantly turning it over to look at the back while I'm talking?
Possible conversation on the mood phone: "Dinner? Tonight? Hold on, let me check something." (pause) "Sorry, I'm totally orange right now, I think it's a bad idea."

You make this phone sound like a big piece of obnoxious crap but I think that these phones are really cool. Maybe people don't know what that light means and will think that these phones are really cool. You should be saying "Hey, thats some really cool technology" rather than "Sorry, I'm totally orange right now, I think it's a bad idea." I personally think that this phone is really cool.

As a reply to Allyson,
Now you're just making a play off of a person's naivety to have a cool accessory. How about for all of those people who do know what the light means?
The idea is ridiculous. I don't need a phone or a ring to tell me what mood I'm in.

In my case it is a great idea; if I am in a bad mood, I want others to be aware of it and leave me alone. I won't be surprised if my staff buys me one for Christmas and I know my family will especially when asking for money.

Oh god... I have to admit, it's pretty cool. But who needs a phone to tell what mood they're in? "Oh.. I'm totally red right now...i cant talk..." or "I'm pink! Let's go out!" I think people need to stop buying this kind of stuff. What's the use? But I'm sure most people will want it...just more things to spend money on...

This reminds me of the mood rings I had when I was little. This is just the grown-up version.

What if ????? The technology is reversed and can tell you the mood of the person your talking to, or even if their lying. Food for thought, very interesting.

It's only a gadget..... kind of cool, but, it would be cooler if it was analyzing the voice of the person you were speaking to instead of your own.
