Kurt Cobain inspires Number (N)ine's spring/summer collection

In further proof that the '90s are back in full force, trendy New York designer Takahiro Miyashita has based his Number (N)ine label's spring/summer collection on that decade's most famous rocker: Kurt Cobain. "About a Boy if he was still alive," is an upscale nod to the grunge rock aesthetic -- using the layered, rugged, you're-either-depressed-or- from-Seattle look as inspiration for a variety of separates that, according to Refinery 29's Loryn Hatch, can be "toned down, or decked out."
The raincoat pictured at right is Hatch's favorite piece, and I can see why. Especially for guys who aren't going to buy a new wardrobe every season, a kick ass coat is a quick-fix way to overhaul your look without hours of shopping.
The entire spring collection is available January 20th.

Looks more like Indiana Jones than anything Kurt would've worn. Anyone ever see Kurt in a wide-brimmed hat?!

yuk! I cannot believe this "look" is coming back. Frankly I hope it doesn't. It makes guys look like sleeze-bums. Not for my guy, thank you. I wish some rock/rap "star" would bring back the Cary Grant look. Now,that GQ style would be interesting!

This guy looks like he made a quick shopping trip to Goodwill. Grunge looks better than the man in the picture, and worse than his clothes obviously cost.

No real guy would wear a hat like that. Make it yellow, & he looks like the guy from Curious George. lol Stoooooopid. The rest of the outfit , could pass. Just not that silly damn hat. I would laugh my butt off at a guy if he was prance'n around with that on his head like he was hot sh*t . Grunge is not wearing clothes that are expensive & hemmed... trendy=expensive=any dummy with low self esteem ready to hop on the "in" thing= empty wallett. (and an ugly hat) LOL

If you really want to be grungy, stay away from the soap. And don't waste your money on new clothes (save it for your dope habit). And when you puke after doing some good smack, make sure some splashes on your boots.

WHY NOT MAKE ANOTHER DRUG ADICT AND SUICIDE VICTEM A FASHION ICON? DOES ANYONE FEEL THAT SOMEHOW FASHION IS SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE? GRUNGE, WHICH WAS NOT A FINANCIAL SUCCESS AS YOU DON'T NEED NEW; JUST DISTRESSED CLOTHING IS EASY TO SAY WHEN YOU ARE A DESIGNER OF EXPENSIVE GARMENTS. THIS MODEL HAS MORE OF AN ENSEMBLE "AREN'T MY PIECES MATCHED WELL" LOOK. JUST BECAUSE YOU PUT THE MONA LISA ON A TEE SHIRT DOESN'T MEAN YOU WERE INFLUENCED BY THE RENAISSANCE! I LOVE FASHION BUT AM REALLY BURNED ABOUT THE BULL SHIT DESIGNERS SHOVEL TO THE PUBLIC. GET OVER IT, IT'S JUST CLOTHES; AND BY THE WAY, YOUR PEDESTAL IS ON FIRE!

That sucks. go to goodwill if you want cobain cloths or a thrift store. Whoever said that outfit was GRUNGE is a moron. What a joke. I'd photoshop Kurts face into the picture, but I wouldn't want to disgrace his memory with that rodeo clown costume. Grunge is a look and an attitude. It's all about going against the trend, and being real. Whoever designed this just doesn't get it, and should save this look for when line dancing comes back in style.

based on how so many people dress like they just crawled out of bed, I didn't know "grunge" was out! The outfit on the guy looks like crap, so if people are stupid enough to wear it, fine. Just wouldn't fly with me in a job interview...and yes, people have NO CLUE

The only thing that implies the grunge look is his personal hygiene or lack of it. Take the silly hat away and the outfit is nicely put together. And that hat, that hat is not grunge, it's not anything other than ridiculous. I'm not anti hat, I adore hats on men or women. Nothing establishes a personal style like a good hat wardrobe.
I'm trying to imagine what type of woman would be seen with a guy in a Curious George hat.

The Hat and the Vest need to go. Just another person from a new generation trying to capitolize on an earlier generations lifestyle & creativity. It doesn't work, unless you are of the upper middle class to high class folks that are looking for something to call your own, because you don't have your own style.

That doesn't look grunge really it looks more hipster like. Plus inspired by Kurt Cobain do you all remember Kurt Cobain? However, if grunge is making a comeback it's gonnna be awesome Doc Martins, baby doll dresses, flannel...it's hot

$2,350 for the raincoat. For a grunge look. What is wrong with that picture?
