I've seen "milkmaid braids" around for a while now, but when I saw Sienna Miller sporting them at the Golden Globes this year it was the first time I realized how much I liked the look. It's sweet, feminine and has a nature-girl yet not flower-child vibe to it.

Fabsugar has simple instructions for trying this style yourself. It's incredibly easy, but be warned that it takes really long hair to achieve the look - my hair is substantially past my shoulders and it's barely long enough to make a full circle braid around my head.

If your hair isn't long enough, a thick hair extension can become an easy fix. Just braid it and bobby pin it into place. But make sure to get a perfect color match to your real hair since all the faux hair will be together in the braid rather than mixed with your own hair, so it will be much easier to spot as fake if it doesn't quite match.
