Men in scarves are sexy

Here's the truth: Men look sexy in knitwear. Whether it's a paper-thin cashmere sweater or a textured wool pullover, there is something about seeing the masculine form swathed in cozy yarn that is irresistible. I even like the male turtleneck, although my husband insists there is nothing worse. It comes as no surprise, then, that I was thrilled to see scarves playing a central role in couture menswear collections for winter 2008.The new way to wear your scarf (men, listen up -- you'll be ahead of the game!) is to "fling" it around your neck and shoulders haphazardly, rather than knotting or tying the scarf, as has been popular in the past. Knowing men, I would venture a guess that the fling has been popularized more out of function than fashion, but you never know. At any rate, scarves are being shown with everything, from the classic blazer/trousers combo to full three-piece suits. Always dangling loosely around the shoulders, the scarf looks like it will be making a play as the men's accessory for 2008.
So what do you think, men? Will you be stocking up on scarves for next winter, or is Belichick outerwear more your style?

Men in scarves? Maybe as a necessity. Certainly not as a fashion statement.
I'll stick with Belichick wear. I'll let the cough "men" cough, on the catwalk wear all the knit scarves.
An opinion is like an .........

I love it that men are getting focus in your articles. I agree that nothing is better looking than a man who cares about his looks! Especially when it's winter time and the fires are buring in the fireplace, and you can cozy up to your man! Keep up the scarfs!

Scarves? I don't feel like getting beaten this week so I'll leave the scarves at home.

...the truth?... Alas, the truth is that most women will never fall for the guy throwing a scarf around his neck and shoulders... unless he is sporting hunting boots, a day old beard and swaggers with the air of a brute without equal. From the age a 13, they are attracted to the "bad boys" or a bad boy in a suit who looks like he can give them lots of babies and chase away all the animals. The guys with the scarf... they lunch with 'em, and moan "why can't the guys I date (or marry) be sweet and supportive like that?"

I wouldn't be cought DEAD in it. Women and gays should stay out of the fashon loop for the rest of us that live in the real world. If they want that crap in their closets, more power to them. It will not end up in my closet.

I was just telling a friend how sizzling Josh Hartnett was in Wicker Park, wearing those long trench jackets and scarves...just something sexy about it...

No, I do not think men look better in scarves. Maybe some look good or OK, but not better. Of course age has a lot to do with it. I am a middle aged lady who does not like scarves on men.

I agree with Elise, men in scarves are definetly my thing! Sweaters, scarves, etc. I wouldn't pack them into knits from head to toe, but a scarf with his suit, or a sweater and some jeans is something that I find attractive. Men, try it and see what the women think. (and FYI, they ARE back, all week I've been fielding calls about scarves at work for men; of course, considering we've had about a foot of snow, it wouldn't be a surprise, but it's the first year I've ever had men come into the store willingly looking for scarves!)

The dude in the picture did look gay.... or maybe it was just a really flat chested gal. Either way he/she should stop looking like someone took away his ice cream cone. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO MEN LOOKING LIKE MEN AND WOMEN LOOKING LIKE WOMEN????
I want long dresses to come back. I want men to grow beards. Youth today are confused...... Bleech!

FEAR OF SCARVES...WHO KNEW THERE WERE SO MANY MEN AFRAID OF SCARVES?
I cannot believe so many guys are saying no to scarves!
This is 2007 NOT 1940!
I hope it does not represent the masses, and is just a small group who are insecure and on their computers all the time.
Women always turn and look twice at a guy that is fashionable, just like men do... and would definitely NOTICE the one who was wearing a scarf.
THE THING ABOUT SCARVES THAT WOMEN KNOW IS...THEY ARE FOR WARMTH AND COMFORT, AND THE SILKS ARE FOR KEEPING COLLARS OF COATS CLEANER, AND FOR CARRYING THE SCENT OF PERFUME WONDERFULLY!
THE QUESTION SHOULD NOT BE " DO YOU LIKE SCARVES?"
THE QUESTION IS..."IF YOU WORE A SCARF DOES THAT MEAN YOU ARE GAY?"
SCARVES ARE AS SEXY ON MEN AS WOMEN...
JUST LIKE SMELLING CLEAN IS SEXIER THAN SMELLING LIKE A BEAR.

From the perspective of a 15 year old girl... Scarves are probably up there on the top of my fetish list. I really respect it when I see men ( and youths) who don't try and be that same old macho guy ( you know... the ones who constantly uses the word "fag" :rolls eyes at several previous posters: ) and is just confident and comfortable enough with his sexuality to wear a nice scarf. It's sexy and romantic looking. I don't care what anyone else thinks, but to me... the scarf increases the appeal of a guy by about... 50 times. So, GO ON! Put those scarves on! Or if you're too chicken...
