Romantic plus-size blouses
Filed under: Fashion, Best of the Season
Truly romantic clothing is often in short supply for plus sizes. It's as if there is a weight requirement for being girlish. That's not the case at Fashion To Figure where you can find a bunch of cute tops that have a feminine and flirty style. The cotton blouse shown here has a flattering empire waist and eyelet trim and ties in the back. It is very sheer so you will have to wear a camisole or tank top underneath. It sells for $20.

I think it is aweful. empire is not at all flattering to big breasted women as it makes us look pregnant. A sheer blouse?? this is not well thought out.

i agree. that example of a romantic blouse would not be flattering. it would poof out around an already rounded stomach. i found an AMAZING place for plus size clothes... high quality and runs the gamut from casual to evening including Romantic blouses, dresses and even has coordinating shoes and jewelry suggestions right along side the clothes. it is Coldwater Creek. their dotcom website is the best and the return policy is no risk to the buyers at any time for any reason returns.

I know plenty of plus sized women, myself included, who think this "look" is TERRIBLE for females "of size." It will make a woman who has a tummy look like her tummy is even bigger. For plus sized women who don't really have a big tummy, it will make them look like they have one--plus, it makes everyone look frumpy on the top (in the bust area) and it makes the hips look bigger than they really are because the top is not streamlined. Less "pouf" in your clothing is better when you have your own "pouf" to begin with on your body. Doesn't anyone really pay attention to what REAL women look like? Who determines what supposedly looks good on women of size? It's as if people don't care about us. Put us in a sack and be done with us, right? NOT. Coldwater Creek is a great place. The Avenue also has some nice stuff, as does Catherine's. No matter where you go though, you are going to get what you pay for--both in quality and style. Clothing manufacturers: PLEASE GET A CLUE.
