Fashion TV under fire in India
We seem to get away with a lot of skin on TV here in the US, but not so in India. India's Information Minister has warned a fashion-fcoused television channel, Fashion TV, "aganist denigrating culture" for airing what Priyaranjan Dasmunsi considers raunchy. Not only is it raunchy, but Dasmunsi has brought it to attention because the broadcasts are made during children's viewing times. Dasmunsi would like "for Fashion TV channel to think of whether they should confine their program beyond 11 (p.m.)." The programs in question? Music videos featuring sexy dancers and a suggestive advertisement of a woman licking an ice cream.
Wow. If that were the case here in the US, we'd have nothing but blank screens on tv.
