It used to be that the trajectory was set, first the modeling career then the well-regarded acting career. But more and more famous actresses such as Uma Thurman, Sharon Stone and Demi Moore have been going the model route appearing in campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Badgley Mischka and Versace.

The men seem to be getting in on it too. Calvin Klein has announced that their new underwear model is none other than Djimon Hounsou, who recently received an Academy Award nomination for his affecting performance in Blood Diamond. His fellow Best Supporting Actor nominee Mark Wahlberg, famously displayed his abs in a Calvin Klein campaign. Hounsou's well-toned form will be gracing the Fall 2007 campaign in print and on billboards as part of the launch of Calvin Klein Steel. It's full circle for Hounsou who got his start modeling in Paris.
