StyleFoul: Vogue editor picked out Jennifer Hudson's Oscar disaster
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Celebrity, News, Hot or Not
Fortunately for all your Jennifer Hudson fans, the Best Supporting Actress is apparently not responsible for that awful dress she wore to the Oscars. Oddly enough, the culprit is Andre Leon Talley, the editor of Vogue magazine.
A source told PageSix.com that "Jennifer was kind of sponsored by Talley and Vogue. Andre insisted that she wear that hideous Oscar De La Renta dress with the awful, awful gold python bolero."
The look has been widely criticized -- including some suggestions that La Renta and Talley were trying to cover up Hudson's fuller figure.
So it's official: everyone makes mistakes. And, sometimes, those mistakes are really, really bad, and in front of millions of people. Oops.

This one-hit-wonder has yet another person to blame when things don't go the way she thinks. Don't get me wrong! She was one of my favorites on American Idol. I was shocked when she was voted off. I am sure her movie is wonderful but I won't be watching. I think her comments about 'abuse' on american idol where a reflection of a personality that does not like to accept failure. Ah, if only we could blame all our misfortune on someone else. Jennifer, the dress isn't so bad, you could have taken the jacket off and draped it over your arm. Tsk Tsk

At no point in this article does it say "Jennifer Hudson blames Andre Leon Talley, the editor of Vogue magazine, for her terrible choice in Oscar attire." It's from Page Six, and cites "a source" that could be absolutely anyone, from Jennifer to a Vogue employee. And I'm not sitting here saying Hudson is great or her movie is fantastic, truth be told I don't watch American Idol and haven't seen her movie, but let's not start attacking her for blaming others when she never did in the first place.

I think there was really nothing wrong with her dress. Apparently you can't see or you don't know style. Compared to some of the things I see some of the other actresss or actors wearing the girl was dressed. She made the dress because she is a beautiful person. She was wearing the dress not the dress wearing her. Hollywood learn what looks good. I know, I can dress.

The dress is cute but the jacket is ugly. It makes her look like she's hunching over.

If she could have kept her hands out of her pockets, it wouldn't have looked so bad - - she wasn't wearing jeans!

jennifer really has nothing to hide, i mean behind that hideous silver thing, she had a great body and an even greater dress. to the person who made that silver thing- you should have just left it with the beautiful brown silky dress, that is so oscars, with that silver thing, she looks like a time traveler in uniform, it also makes that whole dress look cheap!!! any way jennifer should never give in and wear something like that because she feels big, she has lost so much weight and looks so skinny and beautiful!!! and her movie was FANTASTIC, so anyway, she has nothing to hide or be embarrassed about!!!!!!!

Ok does Jennifer Hudson not have a mind of her own to have said no and worn what she wanted to wear? Geez, everytime a celebrity that people like makes some sort of mistake, hollywood tries to find someone else to blame for it. She wore an ugly dress, get OVER IT!

Ahahah. Guys. It's really not even that bad. Have you seen what they consider fashionable anyway? Models walking down the runway looking like peacocks, that's what. I'll admit the jacket is a little much, but I've seen worse. Everybody is making a big deal out of one little flaw.

The dress really isn't that bad. It may not be what every celebrity is wearing but damn give her a break. Have you ever watched VH1 when they show celebrity Worst dressed? Well there you go. She's not the only one (even though I don't even think it's bad)

i dont see why in the world it such a fashion 'fiasco' its really not that bad, even though the jacket is too casual for the event and a gound sould not have pocets [I think] cmon poor thing she like just got really well-known, and everyone's already pickin on her its not fair. I mean just because she's not super duper thin. gawd.

I think the bolero was cute. She's probably self concious about her arms as most bigger women and the choice of material wasnt bad. It went well with her gown and she made somthing so shiny look very glamorous. her putting her hands in the pockets of her dress shows how uncomfortable she is but she looked great, everyone isnt beyonce on the red carpet, give the girl a break. The people that critique these outfits can hardly dress themselves. Another choice of material wouldve made her look like a fat mama walking downt the red carpet..
So SHUT UP
Thanks :)
