Trash bags the hot new look for fall?

Filed under: Fashion, Best of the Season, Runway Report

What's the last possible thing you could imagine women wearing in fall 2007?

If you said trash bags, think again. According to Refinery 29, the "high-shine black fabrics with a tough and tactile finish" have been all over the catwalk this season. Skirts, shirts, suits -- even ballgowns -- were everywhere, and despite how crazy the idea sounds, some of the pieces actually look good.

In spite of the S&M overtones, the fashionistas at Refinery "loved" the look, whether it was in the form of Parisian biker or bat-winged bolero. While I wouldn't go that far, I'd say using trash bag material is a novel idea, and probably just as functional as whatever else you make shiny, black, rubbery-looking clothing from (you know, if you're into that sort of thing).

But what you do think? Do you like it, or does it just look like someone dressed as garbage?
