'Ugly Betty' goes pretty for W Magazine

'Ugly Betty' star America Ferrera gets to take off the fake brows and the fake braces she wears as Betty Suarez and get glammed up for the May issue of W magazine. The actress appears in a beautiful photo shoot shot by Michael Thompson and styled by Camilla Nickerson and is also the subject of an interview which is available online. The article unfortunately doesn't go into her fashion likes and dislikes but it does reveal that America is nearly as perky and upbeat as the character she plays on television. The story online also features some black and white photos of America and a video of the shoot.

There is a REASON they cast this woman in the role of UGLY BETTY. She's pretty fugly, even when they try to dress her up. Some people get hit with the ugly stick - she got beaten by the whole forest!

Please remember people that "Ugly Betty" is a made up TV Show. She looks great. Enough already about the President, he is what he is on or off of TV. Where are the weapons of mass destruction?

I am sorry, but there is no way that girl is a size 6, maybe the stylists marked out the 1 before the 6 on the tag. Have you seen the photos of the rolls hanging over her jeans when she sits? No, not everyone can be a size 2, but for those of us who are, we have problems too, like trying to find a store with decent prices who sell those sizes, they all cater to the larger public. I even have a hard time trying to buy clothes for my 3 kids, most stores sell regular (not slims) and even have sections devoted to husky!!! Had to go to 5 stores before I could find slacks that were small enough in the waist to fit my teenager, it is much easier on the chunky people because thier size clothing is sold everywhere.

Whats all this about physical beauty, beauty is from within. Some top models after meeting them for 15 minutes have a very ugly air about them. To much emphisis on the out side. That is why so many kids have eating disorders today.

I think America Ferrera is a beautiful and talented actress. I don't care for the picture they used up there bc she has way too much make-up on. To the idiot above (#7 aka Kim) If you had to go to 5 stores to find your daughter jeans then one of two things is going on there 1: You have put so much of your materialistic pressure on you child that she has devoloped an eating disorder or 2: Your just full of shit bc your pissed that you no longer have an Im prettier than other people status now that all types of people are being seen as beautiful and you think bashing them and telling bullshit sob stories on the internet make you special...Here's a news flash for you...IT DOESNT! So stop bitching and try eating and maybe you can learn to say positive things about people who deserve it.

She is beautiful because she is real.. there's nothing false or altered about her. Now that I know her political views, maybe I'll have to watch the show.
Our country needs to go in a new direction on so many levels... It's a world society now.. There's more than one way to think about pretty much every issue in life. We need to open up to the rest of the world - isolation and judgement of others is never a good thing. Just a thought.

I think she is adorable, as is. Her optimism and loyalty are true, not phony, beauty. But in this photo, the makeup is too reminiscent of the 1980's heavy blusher type glam look.
