Crocs go stylish
On our sister site Blogging Stocks, Valerie Russo reported that the Crocs company will launch a new version of their best-selling plastic clogs this fall. Dubbed "You by Crocs", the made-over footwear promises to have all of the cushy comfort of the originals without any of the ugliness. What should you expect from these new-fangled You by Crocs? Well, the colors are still awfully bold, but to the designers' credit, the new Crocs are, as promised, a much more fashionable. The one downside is probably the price; You by Crocs range from $149-300.
Provided that wedge-heeled shoes are your thing (six of eight come with stacked heels), the You by Crocs line seems quite promising, especially since the shoes will still have the signature uber-comfy closed cell resin footbed that made the clunky clogs so popular in the first place.
If, like me, you haven't been able to sign onto the rubber clog bandwagon, would you consider giving the new Crocs a chance? Let me know.

As far as I'm concerned, regular crocs are even uglier than jellies. I also don't see how a "rubber" shoe can be comfortable for anyone whose feet tend to perspire. Not only that, but the whole fad scene is childish and way way way overpriced. The "stylish" crocs may appeal to the overpaid, but my comfy sneakers and shoes are just fine, thank you.

I wouldn't spend a dime over $49 for ANY shoe... period. Manolo can come to my house and wash my car and be my manservant for a year before I spend $500 for a pair of his shoes - and Mr. Croc can do the same! They are SHOES! Not a car! Sheesh!

1. Crocs are ugly, period. It's amazing to go someplace like Disney World and see all these dumb lemmings wearing these overpriced, idiotic shoes. I have also seen some kids fall wearing these awkward things.
2. Crocs are not comfortable. Okay, so I bought a pair, looking for comfort for my troubled feet. I got blisters AND my feet perspired.

Crocs were the best thing in the world! They are the only thing I can wear all day at work without agony.
Okay, Okay they are ugly but the $160 alternative isn't very attractive either. I'll probably stick with the $30 ugly version.

I thought that these rubber shoes would have to make your feet hot and sweaty. I also thought they were just a passing trend. But to my surprise I was pleasantly suprised to be proven wrong. First my daughters both got a pair and loved them and they are very particular about what they will wear as shoes go. So I thought I would give them a try, they are very comfortable, lightwieght, and they don't make your feet sweat. You can wear them for hours and you hardly know that you have them on.

If you only care for looks then you don't care if your shoes hurt or disfigure your feet. No one is telling you to wear crocs to your sisters wedding or church on Sunday. They are a wide square toe shoe worn for comfort not looks. There are others. I have Quarks and like them for their function in the outdoors with gardening or the dog park etc. My friends all wear Crocs. No they aren't as attractive as other shoes or sandals but I don't dress to please YOU I dress for form and comfort. They are a nice alternative to leather summer sandals. I have friends that wear them as nursing shoes and they are comfortable all day long. THATS THE REASON YOU BUY THEM.

I honestly didn't think I would ever buy them, but then one time I did because I heard about how they were good for your posture, feet, etc. So I tried a pair and they are very comfortable. It has all the comfort and support you need, at least for someone who has an arch in their foot. I went to Six Flags with them and my feet never got tired. It's true, they aren't stylish, but they have been coming out w/ cuter versions for juniors. But as far as jumping on the bandwagon, oh common people! Everyone does this throughout their life. Seriously, even being "unique" and wearing the " i'm rich but i wear clothes like i'm poor," look is a new fad. Same w/ the uggs! Those things are hideous too and people wear em w/ skirts. what the hell? snow boots and a miniskirt? that's worse than the crocs!!!!

Yes, they are the ugliest shoes i've ever seen and my 14 year old daughter gets very upset when I wear them around her friends but I have to say they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Fashion statement? Maybe not, but they are my most favorite shoes by far.

"From Ugly to...Still Ugly" in my opinion. The tall boots are the best, but if they have the traction record of the original Crocs, there will be a lot of broken legs this winter. That is, of course, that these would be worn in winter like boots are supposed to be worn and not in LA where no cold weather is required to wear boots. What is that all about anyhow? That said, these will probably be a hit in LA. LOL!

I hated the look of crocs when they came out. I am in my 60's so they just looked UGLY. All my young grandkids wore them first. Then my adult children. So I fussed so much that they bought ME a pair. Now I'm sold. They are comfortable and I wore them two days in a row to Busch Gardens (so I am a HIP grandma who rides all the rides with my grandkids!)
I will be first in line to buy the new "less ugly" crocs and I will wear them comfortably on a trip to Europe in the fall. The price is a bit high, but if I have to take less shoes in my suitcase and can be comfortable, I figure it's less than ONE night's stay in a hotel!!

Crocs are ugly and your feet DO sweat.....I fell for the "they are so comfy and great" bull too. They are quick and easy to get on and off for working in the yard, but to wear them out to dinner at a fine resturant...NO!!! People like me just fall in to this trendy idea of thinking that they must be so awesome, if everyone else is wearing them, and they are just not all that. These new found crocs look even worse than the ugly rubber ones with a higher price tag. Please people save your money!!! I highly recommend the comfy Keens!!!! They aren't the prettiest either, but they are great on your feet for walking.

Those crocs are good for one thing and one thing only.. Leave them at the front door to run outside in..not to wear all the time...Ive got a pair I got at the dollar store and they look the same as crocs.. But I would never wear them out...same on the people that make these expensive shoes...same on you!!!

I just checked out the website for the new line, and I LOVE them! They remind of the Famolare wavy sole wedges of the 70's & 80's !

I don't think Crocs are very attractive, but my teenage daughter got me a pair when they first came out, and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. My job keeps me on my feet all day, and I was having some foot problems that disappeared almost overnight. I wear Crocs to work all day, to do errands, to do gardening (except for heavy digging), to walk the dog, around the house, and instead of bedroom slippers.
I DON'T wear them to church or nice restaurants or dressy events (although I am considering a pair of the flats for standing for hours while performing on stage during choir concerts).
I DON'T wear them because they are trendy, and I'll be wearing them long after they are "yesterday's news". I wear them because they are comfortable and affordable (better than the expensive athletic shoes I used to buy).
The new ones? Sorry, I don't pay $149 for shoes. Period. Get the price down to maybe $59 max and I'll think about it. They look a lot better but still not exactly exciting.

Crocs are no uglier than the Earth Shoes of the 70's or Birkenstocks of today. In addition they're cool, ventilated and feel GOOD on the feet. Of course, I'm one who prefers comfort to style where shoes are concerned. I read somewhere that the material from which the Crocs are made is anti-bacterial, as well, which is a plus when ya have kids skinning toes and ankles all the time.

I actually think that they are cute! Over priced, but if they are very comfortable it's worth it to many people. My sister has hip problems and pays big bucks for Born's and Dance Co's. These are actually cuter than those other brands, so if they are comfy, hey they might be worth it.

Crocs may be ugly, but they make my feet happy! I have heel spurs that are quite painful, and when crocs came out I found me some cheaper looking ones at payless and what a blessing to these old tired feet. I will keep buying them as long as they are made. No more heel pain so they are the best ugly shoes for me. :-)
