Angelina Jolie wears $26 dress to 'Mighty Heart' premiere

Whenever anyone compliments something I bought at a thrift store, I always immediately tell them the price. "Nice boots," they say. "Thanks," I reply. "They were $13. I am awesome." Somehow, it makes it the article of clothing even cooler 'cause it didn't cost an arm and a leg. But the absurdly rich international super-star, Angelina Jolie, may have just put my thrifting to shame. While other guests at the New York premiere of her new movie, A Mighty Heart, strolled down the red carpet in thousand-dollar designer gowns, she managed to look stunning in a dress she found a vintage store -- for $26.
Granted, she was shopping at Wasteland on Melrose Ave in LA -- where the selection, I imagine, is slightly more upscale than your local Goodwill. That said, $26. I can't even find a pair of pants that cheap, let alone anything I could wear to ritzy celebrity event.
Well done, Angelina. From one thrift store junkie to another, I salute you.

I totally agree! I always have liked Angelina. She's gorgeous and gives beauty tips, she is always at charity events, she adopts needy children, and now this. Its so good of her and I also salute her!

That is totally awesome! My wife and I always comment on the rediculous, outrageously priced fashions worn on the red carpet, and how if we ever had the chance, we would wear something from J.C. Penny's or Sears. Well done Angelina! Once again you have set yourself apart from the empty headed Bimbos of Holly- Wierd. You set a great example for people who have been blessed financially - To whom much is given, much is expected.

wow!! i'm 1st, woooohoooo, that's NEVER happened b4. as far as her 26.00 dollar dress, good for her, they never wear a dress more than once anyways, and then they usually donate it or something, so why not, sides, she could wear a burlap sack and still pull it off.... lucky her!

The woman is a class act! Such a contrast to the "Look at me! I've got money to burn! " woman in the "Trash the Dress" blog.

What a down to earth kind hearted person Angelina Jolie is. A loving person who looks beyond herself to adopt little sweet children and give them a nice home. I hope her and Brad have a great life together. We should treat the stars as human beings and give them the respect and stop houvering over them with cameras let them have a normal life. They are not the almighty. God Bless them.
You may have a mansion on earth and wear very expensive clothes but you can't take that to heaven.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Anyone see her on CNN with Larry King last night? She is so humble and gracious. NOT to mention she is in touch with real issue with this world, classy in her communication about it, and actually does something about it.

Here is a worthy charity. Kids that can't afford prom dresses are given the opportunity to be helped by Woman like you and I.
All the Ladies in Holly wood could donate their gowns to all the lil girls in this world. For them to have the most wonderful night of their lives.Could you imagine an innercity youth wearing a DESIGNER gown to their prom..How important she would feel and what an impact it would make on her life.. God blesses you Angelina, you are a for real girl..Congrats..

First off -- "hate" has no place on this planet -- to the person who "hates" a previous poster. Second, saying people "steal children" who are adopted internationally is a frikin' slap in the face to all of us who are adopted or have adopted our children. It is ignorance like that which makes finding homes for orphans so difficult. So what if you think people who like Jolie are idiots. Comments such as those just show that there is no compassion amongst some posters. Regardless of what you think of Jolie, at least she's putting her money where her mouth is and giving homes to children from troubled lands. Maybe if people weren't ignorant about international adoption, there would be more families willing to take the time and spend the money to bring children into their homes. You can criticize her and her work but leave our internationally adopted children out of it. When was the last time you spent your money to do something as admirable as adoption. I'm just grateful that my daughter -- born in a former USSR state -- isn't old enough to read yet so she is spared the ugliness of comments such as the one I've refered to.
Take your hate somewhere else and leave our kids alone.

She might be doing good in some aspects of life but SHE did put her hooks into a Married man not to say that he is not to blame but SHE has done it before and as for the adopting to me it looks like they are accessories why don't we see her carring aroud her biological child. She started a trend of adopting babies Good for them kids sad too I'mn sure most of them will get raised by a nanny. Sad that us common people can't cut the red tape to adopt like their money can. I really wish her the best but the fact is when I see her I see the woman that has torn couples apart nothing more.
