Milan's plans to honor Gianni Versace

Filed under: Style in the News, News

It's hard to believe, but it has been nearly ten years since Gianni Versace was shot to death in front of his mansion, Casa Casuarina, in Miami. To celebrate his life, the city of Milan, where Versace had his studio, is putting on a series of events. French choreographer Maurice Bejart has written a two-part ballet titled, "Thank You, Gianni, With Love," to be performed at La Scala. There will also be an exhibit of Versace's sketches for theater costumes that will be on Milan streets and a scholarship in his name will be established at the European Institute of Design.
