Gwen Stefani sues Forever 21!
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Celebrity, News
Oh thank you Gwen! If I had a reason to sue that cheap-not-chic retailer, Forever 21, I would in a heartbeat. I hate that store. I went inside once and almost fainted at the smell of cheap synthetic fabric. Once I got my bearings and managed to not pass out, I broke out into hives (true story). Cheap places like that include digging in barrels and fighting off teenagers often gets me all fired up. Nasty. Perez Hilton has reported that super-mama-singing-mega-star Gwen Stefani is suing the retailer for knocking off her designs. Perez writes...
"In the suit, filed in Los Angeles, Stefani claims that Forever 21 has stolen designs from her Harajku Lovers and L.A.M.B. clothing lines."
I didn't think lambs were very violent creatures but in the fashion industry sometimes you've gotta be tough. Maybe Gwen's maternal instincts are making her protective of her babies ... her clothing lines. I am not sure how this lawsuit is going to pan out because the basis of Forever 21's business is to knock things off. And if its any consolation, the knock offs look just awful -- no one will ever think you are wearing Harajku Lovers or L.A.M.B.
P.S.- the new L.A.M.B fragrance is out of this world, I am going to pick up a bottle at Nordies tomorrow.

LOL, oh sure, the comments work for the spammers.
I actually helped a niece of mine pick out some of Gwen's ORIGINALS, and the stuff is really nice.
I'd sue Forever also, if they made knock-off's of designs that nice.

I like Gwen and her sense of style, but lets face it her L.A.M.B. line is not affordable, the prices on the purses are outrages, some hard working people like to be trendy but are unable to afford her stuff, so maybe she should take out another line that's more reasonable so that companies like these do not have to knock off her stuff... thanks

What's this world coming to...even if the pattern...texture...color...etc. was the same, how can she sue for copying? Makes my judgement of her change...I mean how is it true copying when the fabric isn't even the same? Thats reinventing...reworking. For that matter, how can anyone be sure...I mean, I make a blue shirt and someone comes to me who designed a blue shirt and says I've reproduced "their" blue shirt...where does it end?
Personally having speciality brand outfits and such...who cares? If it works as an art piece...awesome. If it's comfortable and fits well...great. But just wearing it because it's "not cheap" but expensive and ooh lala "I am wearing so and so brand...come on. Who are you.
There are plenty of great outfits and brands that are less expensive and work just as well or better. Also, you don't have to worry about someone trying to steal anything or spilling a drink on it.
Just look to the story behind Dada artist, Marcel Duchamp's "Fountain." He didn't design the urinal.
