Bad cops forced to wear Hello Kitty

I have to confess, I hate Hello Kitty. I understand that it's cool to plaster that obnoxious little feline on all of your cutesy, girly accessories, but let's not forget that Hello Kitty, in spite of her fashion status, is also a children's cartoon.
I know this because I spent two hours driving to Sea World this weekend with that cartoon playing on my child's portable DVD player in the back seat. I'm fairly certain they hired the actress that played Quinn on MTV's Daria to do all the characters -- and, let me tell you, there is nothing more obnoxious than hearing that squeaky, valley-girl voice yakking non-stop for hours on end.
Subsequently, I think it's hysterical that, in Thailand, cops who get caught littering, parking where they're not supposed to or showing up late to meetings will be forced to wear Hello Kitty armbands as a mark of shame. It's the perfect punishment, because everything about that cat is shameful.
While the new scheme may make Thailand's police officers look slightly more fashion forward, something tells me that, once they've been forced to wear it, they won't screw up again.
