The ugliest purse $52,000 can buy
Filed under: Accessories, Fashion, News, Best of the Season
How much would you pay for a really nice purse? $100? $500? $1000? I suppose it's all relative -- depending on how much money you have. But no matter what you're paying, if you're splurging for something special, it's preferable that your something special isn't the ugliest purse on the face of the Earth.Like this Louis Vuitton bag, for instance. I suppose, with a price tag of $52,000, you could call this a status symbol. However, I'd call it a symbol that you are a moron.
Fortunately, there are only five for sale in North America and 24 on sale worldwide.
Otherwise I might have to look at in real life -- and that would be gross.

RIDICULOUS! NO purse is worth $52,000.00 no matter WHAT it looks like or HOW much money you have! I could adopt 3 children for the amount of a stupid purse! It makes me sick!

All Louis Vuitton bags are butt ugly. It just boggles my mind how people pay top price for their overpriced bags with their ugly logo plastered all over it.

OMG!!! That is the ugliest thing. I would not buy that a yard sale for a $1.00.

I did pay $1100 for my traditional LV canvas Louis Vuitton. I can honestly say I like mine much better.
If you go to the Louis Vuitton Store in Paris, they have some crazy stuff with wild prices made out the Louis Vuitton logo. Camping beds that fold into a suitcase for about $50,000. There are people who will I suppose buy anything Louis Vuitton. They have us paying rediculous prices that they continue to increase because they know we are hooked.
Shoe designers have done the same thing with us.

I have a great sewing machine, If that bag costs $52.000.00 what could amazing money I could make with all the scraps of beautiful fabic saved over the years. Of course, I have no famous logo/name to attach. I tried to say something positive, but, Dear Lord that is an ugly bag.

I guess it's true what they say, "A fool and his (her)money are easily parted." That is one ugly purse! I'm glad I'm not an idiot who would waste my money on something just because it has someone's name on it.

I think it is ridiculous for anyone to spend that kind of money on a purse no matter how rich you are. That is just someone shouting to the world, "Look how much money I have!" If you have so much money that you can spend it like water, spend it on something worthwhile. If you want to be noticed, spend it on some lovely public art and plaster your name on it. Your name will live on for years and the world will be a little pleasanter for everyone who passes by. (But I think the purse itself is cute and funky and fun. I'd buy it for $25.00)

Gee, that is sure one ugly purse. Only a fool would pay that much money for that purse. Looks like it came from a flea market

CHARLENE , YOU SAY ALL LV BAGS ARE BUTT UGLY AND OVERPRICED , WELL THEN YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT QUALITY OR THE TIME IT TAKES TO MAKE QUALITY PRODUCTS. LV BAGS ARE NOT JUST THROWN TOGETHER, AND IF YOU TAKE CARE OF THEM THEY WILL LAST A LONG ,LONG TIME . MY WIFE'S LAST ONE LASTED 8 YEARS, CARRYING IT EVERY DAY!!(PRETTY GOOD INVESTMENT I WOULD SAY) QUALITY DOES NOT COME CHEAP. MAY BE YOU CAN'T AFFORD A LV?

Fashion is WAY overrated. It doesn't matter how much it cost to MAKE this patchwork purse, it's that it was made by Louis Vuitton. WHO CARES.

It is a sad comment on our times that some people must pay as much as it would take to feed and shelter a good deal of people who have nothing, to carry an ugly bag proving how "chic" they are. Some people have no identity of their own so must "create" one. They are the true TRASH of this world.

I agree with Barbra and Charlene...Oh and Mark, maybe if you were not so stupidly wasting your money on status symbol purses for your materialistic wife you could afford an education from a reputable place that could teach you how to SPELL. Your pissing away money "may be" why you cannot afford a decent education?

Fashion designers are artist. Ever seen a painting and asked yourself "What the heck is that?". The purse is a piece of art, a collage. It was inspired by previous works and a pretty good way to recycle.

Here's the thing, designers exploit celebrities by playing into their need to be different. The designers make ugly things be they clothes or bags, charge high prices that the average person cannot afford and feeds the ego of the rich and famous. There are many people who are hard working that don't even earn $52,000. a year, myself included being that the most I've earned was $45,000.
None the less, it is their money and they have the right to spend it any way they choose. At least choose something that looks good and not silly for the amount of money. Designers are laughing all the way to the bank-cha ching$$$. It is not the designers job to be concerned with HOW you look as long as you buy their product.

elena, I don't think any self-respecting flea would want that bag to be seen at their market. That smart flea knows you couldn't even give that 'thing' away.
And Mark, obviously that is the only purse your wife owns if she is using it day in and day out for eight years. At those prices, you probably can't afford a new one for her.

LOL, Well I have to say that comment about a bag lasting 8 years and quality for the price really don't budge me on my idea of wasted money for a name. My walmart purse lasted me 5 years and I paid $15.00 for it and it was real leather. So what qualifys as quality in the eyes of someone paying thousands of dollars for a bag when we have children who can't afford college and millions starving in the world.
