$120,000 shoes guarded by deadly cobra

A well protected shoeWhat would you do if you owned a $120,000 pair shoes? You could hide them someplace secret or keep them locked up in a safe, but that just doesn't seem like enough protection for footwear worth more than some houses.

Rene Caovilla, the designer behind the world's most expensive pair of shoes, had a novel idea for when the diamond-encrusted sandals were on display at Harrods in London. In addition to the store's normal security (which is notoriously intense), Caovilla hired deadly Egyptian cobra snakes to guard the shoe counter.

As you might suspect, the stunt proved very effective in keeping people's hands where they belonged.
