So that explains it -- Britney's hairdresser quit before VMA performance

After Britney Spears' crap-tastic performance at the Video Music Awards, the Internets were abuzz with commentary on lazy lip-syncing and that awful glittery bikini. Oddly, most people missed her equally unfortunate hair. The no-style, flat top, "I've cemented my hair down with 7 cans of hairspray" look was probably the least of Britney's troubles Sunday night -- but that doesn't mean it was good.
Rumor has it that the reason the former pop-star's coiffure was such a resounding disappointment had to do with the man who wasn't styling it. Ken Paves, hairdresser to the stars (and Britney's regular stylist), was scheduled to do the celebrat's hair for the VMAs -- but backed out on the gig. According to a source close to Spears, the singer got snippy when Paves showed up to give her extensions, because she'd requested that his two female assistants do the job (apparently she prefers to be surrounded only be women).
Oh, and the bikini? Turns out costumers had picked out something far less hideous, but Britney insisted on her now infamous wardrobe disaster.
Amazing.

I feel bad for her, i can understand why she chose the bikini...Its that all her performances have been tight leather or bikinis and everyone loved them, so it shouldn't be that shocking for her to wear the same things again, but sadly ppl called her fat and no one liked it...i guess she doesn't realize that shes a mother and she isn't the way she used to be. That hairdresser was wrong to quit on her, it was an important night. The only thing i can say is her fault is the lazy lip singing

Shes not fat.
Shes not horrible.
Give her a break.
I think all the idiots out there making fun of her and posting bad things about her are the reason why she isnt the best person out there right now.
Did you ever think that maybe these writers are lying about what they are saying? Do they ever give proof?
NO.
So lay off her; Give the girl a break.

Why give her a break, shes done all of this to her self. If she truely wanted to make a comeback performance she would have made a much bigger effort than she did. Any one who thinks other wise is feeling sorry for her and not really seeing that she is actaully a mess and has many problems with her life.

HERE IS SOMETHING TO PONDER:
I would bet my last dollar that at least half the women and men that have been trashing Britney are anywhere from 50-100lbs. overweight themselves, their kids are God knows where, and are hiding behind their pc's right now eating Ding Dongs, Fritos, and washing it all down with 44 oz. Big Gulp? Be careful not to get any chocolate, grease, or Mountain Dew on the keyboard super models; not to mention your double chins.
Maybe that half of you need to look up the statistics on the net about what percentage of Americans are overweight, obese, or morbidly obese.
And for the skinny people out there: Do you eat five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables everyday? I'm sure you do not. Do you consume a diet that is high in fiber? Do you even know what fiber is????
Has ANY of you ever heard of the Food Pyramid? If not, why don't you visit mypyramid.gov and punch in your information honestly and see if you are eating the right amount of the FIVE food groups, NOT TO MENTION, excercising the correct amount EVERY DAY. Oh, that's right, you thought there were only FOUR food groups, didn't you? No Einstein's, there are FIVE food groups.
SOCIETY, ---- IN GENERAL, needs to grow up and quit basing opinions TOTALLY on looks.
You all sound like a bunch of grade school children; like you are stuck in the MIND SET of a 2nd or 3rd grader!!! Oh for heaven's sake, I bet your kids are the bullies at school, aren't they? OR, maybe, just maybe, you were the bully in school that was SO insecure about themselves they HAD to make fun of the other kids because they were afraid if they didn't then someone would notice their imperfections. (Don't hate me JUST because you know I am right.) :))
HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITE SAYINGS:
People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
It's kind of like the pot calling the kettle black.
Never judge a book by it's cover.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Thou shall not judge........
Remember those? I DO; I'M A BIG GIRL, NOW. LMAO!
When is the last time ANY of us has had a herd of photographers STALK us EVERY DAY and see EVERY stupid mistake we made day in and day out, AND THEN publicize it to make money, gossip, or both? I can not ever recall that happening to me, can you?
Are you all jealous that EVERY BIT of your privacy is not being invaded EVERY DAY of YOUR life?
ORRRR, are you jealous because you WANT every mistake that you have made in short period of your life made public?
I'm positive you all have always made the RIGHT decisions, haven't you? You all must be perfect, huh? LOL LOL!!! Give me a break, AND the rest of us SOPHMORES, pleeeease, pleeeease? Pretty please, with sugar on top? :)))
I guess none of us has never hit a rough time in our lives when we made one mistake after another. We are the perfect ones, huh?
Oh by the way, in your spare time, when you are not judging or trashing others, maybe most of you should go back to the 2nd or 3rd grade and learn how to spell SIMPLE words. That would SURELY be more constructive than to pretend to be "The Almighty" ...... don't you think?
Have a great day!

Excuse me, Marsha, but after reading your tirade about how wrong all of us are for harshly judging Britney on her looks and performance, it's obvious you're missing a crucial issue: Britney's entire career is based in large part on her looks. It's no secret that she's not blessed with an amazing voice, nor does she write or arrange her own songs. She knows this, and that's why she's made that aspect of her persona -- her looks, her young, slutty/innocent (Madonna/Whore) alluring looks -- a substantial part of her "act". Because Britney herself has made her physical appearance a substantial portion of her act, please tell me how I'm wrong (or anyone else for that matter) for judging her on her looks?
Not only that, but unless I'm mistaken, wasn't it Britney who wanted to be the opening act at this year's VMAs? In other words, nobody forced Britney to perform; she volunteered for it. So once again, please tell me how I'm wrong for judging Britney's performance when she put herself out there for me to judge? I didn't force her to perform, nor did anyone else. And while I'll talking about it, given that Britney knew she would be opening up the 2007 MTV VMAs, and probably knew it well in advance of the date, shouldn't she have done more to prepare for her performance? I mean, shouldn't she have lost a little weight, firmed up her body, etc.? After all, remember that a big, BIG part of Britney's act is her looks/appearance.
I guess I'm just trying to point out that, although I agree with you in general about how screwed up our society is regarding the importance we place on physical appearance, in this particular instance, judging Britney harshly and mercilessly as has been done in this instance is NOT AT ALL improper or otherwise wrong. After all, Britney has made her physical appearance a MAJOR portion of her act, and Britney voluntarily obligated herself to perform at the MTV VMAs. So in this particular instance, I fail to see how I'm wrong (or anyone else) for judging Britney for looking soft, out of shape, etc.
Oh, by the way, I do eat fruits and vegetables throughout the day. I don't eat red meat, nor do I eat processed sugars, flours, or other foods. I fairly estimate myself to be in better than average physical condition, certainly compared to most everyone else in America. So I feel fairly comfortable criticizing Britney for being soft and out of shape. However, even if I was one of those Twinkie-eating, 44-oz soda swilling fat pigs, I still would feel justified in judging Britney for looking soft and out of shape because even though I might be fat and out of shape, I'm not putting myself out there in front of a nationwide audience in an itsy-bitsy bikini. But because Britney did, and because she did it of her own volition, she is fair game, she is a proper target, for any criticism she may receive from anyone who watched her perform.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Marsha. Otherwise, thanks for reading.

I totally agree with Marsha... If our every second of free time were placed under a microscope with a bunch of leeches stuck to our asses 24/7 just how much fun or do you think that would be. All I can compare it to is being videotaped at a function or party it's the most uncomfortable feeling when the camera lingers on for more than a few minutes or so. I cannot imagine going through life with constant camera action and a bunch of evil leeches waiting to pounce on your every move .
