Let Beyoncé design your prom dress
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Fashion, Celebrity, Best of the Season
Beyoncé Knowles is one elegant lady, so I was a little surprised when House of Deréon -- the line she created with her mother Tina -- was all about denim and sportswear. But now the ultra-fabulous diva is a creator clothes that seem more in keeping with her personal sense of style. She's even re-launching her fashion label with a focus on more formal occasions -- like prom, for instance.Apparently, the inspiration for the new direction came from Tina, who says: "Girls literally stop me on the street and ask me to personally make them a prom dress." Obviously, she couldn't accommodate all those random strangers, but this new move should give them a little something to look forward to come prom season.
Look out for the dresses this January in high-end stores like Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale's. They wholesale for $120 to $300, so you can expect to spend a little on your dazzling new threads -- but to have a dress hand-picked by Tina and Beyoncé, it's probably worth it.

well if the gallery of pictures above are dresses that they designed, then dont expect the stores to be carrying that line of clothing long. I saw one gown, the full length white one that had maybe a smidge of tastefulness to it. The rest looked trashy. Neiman Marcus? I could see if more next to the Jacklyn Smith rack at K-marts (with that said, I think a lot of Jacklyn Smiths clothes appear tasteful just using her line because its at K-mart). What makes these stars think they can do it all? Sing, act, design clothes etc. I mean, kudos to her if she is following some dream she had. But if she wants to make it work, she is going to need to stop using the hookers on 4th Street as her inspiration.

I USE to be a big fan of Beyonce. I still like her, but she does need a break-- maybe we just need time to miss her a little bit (you know what I mean?).
Nevertheless, afer viewing all the comments posted about this article, I have to say that many of you are a little bit too critical. I have a feeling that the people who are commenting on this article are in no "position" to be critical. And by position, I mean take an introspective look at your lives and see whether you have attained anything near to what you would like? If so, then this doesn't apply to you. But if not, then you can't touch B. She wanted to be the number one selling female R&B recording performer and singer-- she is. She wanted a clothing line-- she has it.
She is at the top of her game, are you? If the answer is no, then maybe you should not waste time commenting on B's life, and use that time wisely and work on your own personal, professional, educational, financial, or spiritual lives.
Don't hate. She is doing a great job and appears to enjoy what she does.

Okay, now if I had to chose one R&B star to create my Prom Dress, it would be Beyonce. Why? Well, if you compare her to a few of the other R&B stars...she has more class, and if her MOTHER is helping her, then those dresses can't be too trashy.
In all honesty, I have to say that Beyonce has class, and you know what, give her space. Well, let me put it this way:
If you had to chose to have a dress made by Brittany Spears or a dress made by Beyonce, which would you chose?

In case no one's noticed, Beyonce has worn some very nice dresses to award shows--yes, classy dresses from reputable designers. I would think that if she chose to rep such beautiful dresses in the past, she should have some idea on the type of prom dress to have in the HOD collection. I'm not expecting trashy stuff--why would any of u? The stuff she wears that r "trashy" are for performances and what not. So, I'm looking forward to seeing what she's got
