Beards are back

In the wake of all this talk about "Menergy," and as we head steadily toward the colder months of the year, I'm seeing beards on an increasing number of manly style icons. You've probably noticed George Clooney sportin' the kind of thick, seemingly untamed facial fur normally reserved for collegiate peace activists and coffee shop baristas. Yesterday Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted in a top-notch suit with a scraggly pirate beard beneath his well-cropped coiffure.
A word of caution men: before you let that second day stubble blossom into the full-blown rugged look, remember that you are required to trim that bad boy. It might look like George and Jake are letting themselves go, but I assure you the look is carefully crafted. Go too long without a trim, and you won't look hot, just homeless -- and no women will speak to you.
Here's a trimmer I highlighted awhile back for when you're on the go, and here's a sturdier, more practical option for when you're at home. Use them.

I've rocked the carefully groomed beard for two years now. I'm 23 and hip-happenin'. Not only is the beard back, the beard is back in Hollywood!

I like a guy with a clean shave. The rough look tells me that he's lazy. When it comes to dress shoes, loafers ARE for loafers. Also if the man DOES wear laced shoes and it's tied to the side, it's bye bye!!

What a crock. No beard for me, i feel nasty and filthy unless i'm clean shaven, i'm not about to try to go for that Geico caveman look just because it's the "in" thing and every other guy seems to be doing it. Women prefer me babyfaced anyway! i show my masculine side in ways other than resorting to this.

Beards are most definitely not back in style! Some lame, blithering clothing designer or other fool may think they are, but they aren't. They're in, if you go hunting in the winter. Or if you work as a lumberjack in a logging camp. Other than that, again, no way in hell are they back in style. The latest polls show that women hate beards by 97%. They hate moustaches by 93%.

ALL MEN SHOULD HAVE FACIAL HAIR!! And in my imaginary world, they do! My husband has always had a beard, since high school. When my male friends shave, I give them holy heck. I just love the look!

Most facial hair is pretty low class, very low class. You have to be young for it look half way decent too and it usually doesn't.

Jesus and Santa Claus both have beards and long hair. From the pictures around the house when I was a kid, I learned to love men who display that look. I would not be with a man who didn't have facial hair.
Class has nothing to do with it. Personal preference does.
