The "Rachel" makes room for the "Kate"
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Hair Care, Hair, Celebrity
It's hard to believe that Kate Moss' greasy, stringy mop would be the one to launch a thousand haircuts, but it has happened. Dubbed the new "Rachel" (a.k.a. Jennifer Aniston's layered chop from her early Friends days), the "Kate" has sent millions of women flocking to hairdressers to request the model's new 'do: long bangs and long locks.
The Independent in Britain points out that fringe bangs are nothing new. Famous ladies like Anne Hathaway, Mischa Barton, Jessica Alba and Elizabeth Hurley have already trod the full bang path -- Barton and Alba, in fact, have been there and back.
I guess this just goes to show you that a trend isn't a trend until Kate Moss has done it. If you have any doubts about that point, just consider the following other Kate Moss fads: mini-vest, bohemian chic, high-waisted pants and Pete Doherty.

That's disgusting. Why would anyone want to look like a coke whore? Plus, this style's been done by hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of women over the last few decades. Nothing new here. Way to suck at predicting a new mega-trend, Anne Metz.

Um, I've seen this so many times and too bad she doesn't have enough bangs to cover up her ugly ass face.

the world is comming to an end and all you can come up with is how Kate moss is wearing her hair. this is pretty sad. who cares how anyone wears thier hair or even if they have hair.

bangs are nothing new, women of a certain age wear them, They also cut their hair shorter to make them selves look younger. Same as we color our hair.
the look that kate is wearing has been around for ever.
looks like a long shag to me. Even my adult son is wearing a cut very much like that, only he is growing his out to cut it off and give it to LOCKS OF LOVE for those that do not have hair.

It's too bad that most women in today's society don't know who they are and need to "look" like other women. Be yourself...

Can anyone say Cheryl Tiegs? I thought this was an old picture of Cheryl until I saw Ugly Kate's face underneath Cheryl's hair.

I think she looks soft and natural- a quality we don't often see in clebrities. This is a look that normal women can easily achieve and look very pretty in. Besides, wouldn't most of you critics be lucky to look like her despite your rudeness?

Are you people out of your flipping minds?!?!? Kate is a goddess! There is a reason she is the world's most successful model and has continued to model since she was 13 - she is beautiful both conventionally and unconventionally. That isn't something you find very often. She is a very good model - she really knows how to sell a product or image without dominating an ad. She's famous and considered beautiful for a reason, people! I guess a lot of you here don't care for her, but I thought this cut was really cute when I saw it on her. It's nothing novel. I actually already had the same hairstyle, so now I have the "new Rachel" - great! Kate is a fashion icon and her topshop collection is really nice. What can I say? I'm a child of the 90's and she's always been my favorite model!

Wow-- The 1st 6 comments were written by a bunch of haters! 1st of all, Marc, if you are worried about the world coming to an end what are you doing reading the "style-dash" webpage? 2ndly, although I wouldn't run out and get my hair cut like her, Ms. Moss is not ugly, just one of the many famous who gets hooked on drugs.....maybe stupid, but not ugly.

This is NEW? Those of us who have wavy hair and choose not to torture it with straightening have been wearing this forever!! Some with the bangs-some without-I suppose the main difference is we comb or brush it before going out in public

I would LOVE to know just who makes up all these "rules" for the rest of us humans to follow. Just try watching shows ,like, "What NOT to wear" and then please come back and explain to me why 2 non-descript individuals feel it is their duty to tell the rest of us what to wear and buy. Go figure. And,,,,what's-his-name,Jerry Blackman, who makes the "best dressed and worst dressed" list that is supposed to terrify people-has he NOTHING BETTER to do than to ridicule others?
