Beyoncé causes trouble at Versace runway show
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Celebrity, News
You know that annoying person who shows up late to a movie, or play, or whatever. Everyone else who managed to get there on time is seated, quiet, and ready to go -- but someone had to wander in five minutes late and hold everything up. Grr. What gives? How hard is it to show up before something starts? Sit down and shut up already, I'm trying to watch! On Saturday, that annoying person was Beyoncé, who, along with Jay-Z and her bodyguard, held up the Versace men's collection runway show in Milan. Normally that wouldn't be the end of the world -- after all, it's a big deal for designers when celebs check out their runway shows, so I'm sure everyone was happy to accommodate such a high-profile late arrival.
However, there weren't enough seats, so some poor sap had to get bumped in order for Beyoncé's bodyguard to sit down. Unfortunately for Versace, the sap that lost his seat was none other than Tommy Fazio, the men's fashion director for Bergdorf Goodman (a luxury clothing store). When he was asked to get up, Fazio apparently said: "Fine -- I don't stand at shows, so please escort me to the door."
Looks like Bergdorf Goodman won't be carrying any Versace this season.
Oops.

I think all the people commenting before me are haters!!! Noone said that she made the person get up. Don't hate if her presence demands this from people. She never once said, "Make someone get up" It was just done that way because she is "BEYONCE". As far as talent, She is very talented. Is she the best actress around? No, however, I have seen alot worst!! Don't hate on the woman because She has it all, her man has it all and oh by the way, They are both African Americans!!!!

I'm an African American and I don't like Beyonce that much. It annoys me everytime I see her. I am sick and tired of seeing her face. Of course no one said that she made the guy get up, ok, so it wasn't really about her attitude but she probably didn't say my bodyguard can stand so that this man can sit since I am late, either.
And no she is not the best acctress around. There are way better actresses than her. Personaly I don't think she can act. She should stick to snging and dancing. And who cares if she has it all. So do other actors and actresses.
And don't pull the race card because that has nothing to do with having a diva attitude. You make the assumption that everyone who has commented are non-african americans because they are not fond of good ol' girl Beyonce. There are alot of African Americans that don't like Beyonce.

what does them being black have anything to do with this article????????????
fyi just cause ur black doesn't mean you need the whole world to bow down to you because people ONCE treated you badly
every culture goes through times when they are discrimnated against and treated unfairly
your time was hundreds of years ago so . . . GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The issue is not about color or being a celebrity at all... It is about time sensitivity and accountability... When you are invited to a special occasion be it dinner with friends, a premiere, award show, or in this case a fashion production show... One should be honored that they were initially invited and in accepting the invitation should be curtious and show up at least five minutes early or on time... And, as far as Jay-Z... I would have made him stand instead of asking Tommy Fazio, the men's fashion director for Bergdorf Goodman another INVITED guest to give up their seat! Was Jay-Z even invited???

It sounds like you all are a bunch of haters to me... and i understand when u say that u are tIRED OF seeing HER face but thats is part of bein a celebrity so dnt hate the playa hate the game and i dnt think he was forced to give up his SEAT they probably asked him and he was probably the one actin LIKE a diva and left tryin to get attention or wateva but stop hating on b and her man cause they are doin it big and wil continue and yes ulanda they are both black but that really doesnt matter but its a plus to see african americans doing something wit their lives ..... JUS STOP HATING AND LETS JUS ENJOY WHAT THEY BRING TO THE TABLE B CUZ HAF OF YALL ARE PROBABLY BLASTING THEIR SHIT IN UR CARS SO .. STOP THE BULLSHIT AND BE 4 REAL!!

Yeah tapanga it's not like racism still exists today, especially when we have such kind-hearted, intelligent, non-judgmental people such as yourself. Do you just repeat whatever the ignorant people say, or do you have any thoughts of your own? If you're going to talk about how ALL cultures go through periods of being discriminated against, you should at least use valid examples AND provide proof that these cultures are STILL being discriminated against.....even hundreds of years later.
Terry 1-21-2008 @ 5:45AM
Tapanga you should try opening up a history book, if you know how to find a library. Then maybe you could step out of your sheltered life and realize that the history of racism didn't just happen ONCE. The history of slavery did not begin with America. Europeans were colonizing and enslaving people long before it began in the US. I'm not sure how something happens ONCE when it's happened for centuries to millions of people. Today is called Martin Luther King Day for a reason. If it happened ONCE, how did it still occur in the 60s....or even to this day?
Shani 1-21-2008 @ 12:12PM
actually blacks r still descriminated today
example: Jena 6
and it wasn't hundreds of years ago it was about 40 or 50 thats less then a century so get your facts straight ...
and by the way im mixed... black and white... so HA
Gabbie 1-21-2008 @ 12:40PM
Hey Ulanda.
Were you there? I'm guessing not, which means you didn't actually
SEE anything that went on. Which means you couldn't possibly KNOW whether or not Beyonce made that man get up. Granted it could have happened, but it also could have been a misunderstanding or whatnot.
And I agree with Tapanga. Enough with the race card. I'm Irish and although my race was discriminated against right around the time yours was, you don't see me assuming, "Oh, someone acted negatively toward me because I'm Irish," or "No Irish need apply I guess." It was a hundred years ago and has little relevance to today. So get over it.

Yea y'all are pretty much haters...like the person under me said, Beyonce never said "Somebody get up" so its not her fault and she is jus that important where a show has to be stopped...ever heard of a show stopper? well there u go

I agree with your comment. She couldn't act her way out of a cardboard box. I'm not impressed with her at all. I could be a hater but I don't feel like it. Just don't care for her at all...never have.
Shari 1-20-2008 @ 3:44PM
First off, why would her bodyguard need a seat? Shouldn't he be standing up with the other security personnel? Second, even if he just HAD to sit down, he should have sat in the back cause he isn't buying no Versace. Third, Versace needs to be more careful who they invite to their events....now they've lost some big money because of this.

Not a fan of these Divas 1-20-2008 @ 7:12AM
It should be titled "TWO DIVAS CAUSE TROUBLE AT VERSACE SHOW" because Jay-Z is also a Diva. And doesn't this homegirl have her clothes designed by Mommy.

she was there with Jay Z, because, it was a Versace men's collection. Not women's collection line.
ali obiyo 1-20-2008 @ 7:35AM
Did she like need a bodyguard? Isn't Jay-z thuggish and ugly enough to keep ppl away? The person who bumped him should be fired.
