Kim Cattrall's enormous floppy hat is stupid, but still a good reminder
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Beauty, Celebrity

I am all in favor of wide-brimmed straw hats, but Kim Cattrall's Sex and the City character in a hat so enormous it could pick up satellite signals from space was a little much. Does she have to turn sideways to walk through doorways?
Nevertheless, seeing the exaggerated hat was a good reminder about sun protection. Because winter days have fewer sunlight hours and the air is cold, it's pretty easy to forget that we need to wear moisturizers with SPF every day, and if we head out on a resort getaway to either sand or snow, the full battery of all-over sunscreens.
And of course, if you want to wear a straw hat in the winter, we won't be mad at you.

Hi Barcrd,
Tanning is so out and fake. Being your natural skin color is in.
Nicole Kidman has beautiful skin.

She will not suffer from sun spots and skin cancer. Having pale white skin should be considered BEAUTIFUL!! I can guarantee that we will feel that way later in life when they still look young, and you sun worshipers have old wrinkled skin with brown spots! Yuck!

Kim Cattrall........... one of those poor unforunate women who started out gorgeous, and just gets more and more undesireable as the years pile on.

Mark you wish you ever had a girl as good looking as Kim. Ha!

Mark....I completely agree. I used to think she was pretty. Now......not so much. Don't want to think about 10 years from now.

I think it's a great idea to wear a hat so big that it not only protects your forehead and face but your shoulders and arms too. It's a personal sun hat and umbrella all in one!!! She might have just started a new trend!!

May be stupid, but it is functional as a shield against too much sun. Sort of like carrying a beach umbrella with you. Trysitting behind her at any public event without a periscope.

I only wish I looked like Kim when I was her age and now. She is beautiful. I miss seeing her on TV. I would love to see her on Cashmere Mafia.

When you get older and finally have the wisdom to evaluate yourself without lying to your own face, then maybe I'll feel sorry for you Adonis.

I think the hat is great. Not practical for an outdoor sporting event, though.

The hat is great! It's stylish and practical. Kim is a lot of fun.
Oh...and Sarah G. Kim, the author,.....maybe you're "stupid". Who are you to be saying something so judgmental.

I think she looks fab! That's a hat that appeals to a stylish and confident woman and Kim is both. She is wealthy and such lifestyle allows such eccentricities, that to less "cultivated" eyes will seem "stupid". That's a typical Palm Beach look, where women do wear such hats when lounging by the pool or on their yatch's decks. I doubt they actually walk around anywhere wearing them, as they are usually driven places.
Kim is gorgeous!
