Marc Jacobs' pumps inspired by doorstop
If you never get to see a shoe making love to a doorstop in your entire life, at least now you've seen the aftermath. With a design seems more like a ploy to get attention than an actual shoe, Marc Jacobs has surely created one ugly piece of fashion with his new ankle-breaking pumps. I 'm no expert when it comes to ladies' footwear, but I know fugly when I see it -- and there's no way I can pass up an opportunity to comment on a pair of shoes this freaky. The metallic leather is a nice touch, and the shoes could almost be tasteful, if the heels weren't so reminiscent of office furniture.
What can I say, the heel is really the whole focal point here. Maybe these babies would make a good weapon? The metal heel could definitely do some damage to a mugger or henchman. Do these shoes serve an orthopedic function, like the ones with the spring on the bottom? These are rhetorical questions, of course.
I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting?

And I thought Crocs were ugly! Boy, was I wrong. It doesn't even look like you can actually walk in those... can you? This is definitely a tactic to attract attention ... job well done!

These shoes are United Nude, not Marc Jacobs.

i think these shoes are super cool! i give the designer a lot of credit for finding inspiration in something so ordinary to create art. they don't have to be functional- the designer is just trying to push the viewers perception of what a shoe can be. its meant to be thought provoking, not like a functional shoe you can go jogging in or something... i wish people could see that and stop making fun of designers, and their art of fashion.
