Metallic gold is still hot for 2008

This is a post

Even though we thought that the metallic trend would be a thing of the past, it looks like gold is here to stay for 2008. That's fine by me; I see nothing wrong with keeping the shimmery glamour color on the red carpet for another year.

You can still use gold as a great accent color like John Rocha for his London show. Or, go for broke with an all out full gold ensemble like Rachel Bilson did for the Jumper premiere in her gorgeous Monique Lhuillier designed dress. Speaking of Monique Lhuillier, she's also been using gold as an accent color for wedding dresses. A gold sash can give a classy touch to any white gown and would go great in a fall wedding!

I used to have a problem with gold. I've always followed the general rule, silver is for young people, gold is for my grandma. But this isn't my grandma's gold anymore. It's been a prominent feature in enough runway shows this year to make young fashionistas everywhere take note!

Browse through the gallery below to see how big name designers like Marc Jacobs, Naeem Kahn, Jill Stewart, DKNY, Phillip Lim, John Rocha, Ralph Lauren and Badgley Mischka used gold in their shows.
