Rihanna's outfits are a bad idea gone worse

One would think that after three albums under her belt, including her latest "Good Girl Gone Bad", Rihanna would have gotten a better sense of what looks hot onstage and what does not. No doubt about it, Rihanna has a fantastic body (and crazy legs) but she's showing it off in all the wrong ways. Check out her onstage outfit and marvel at the overwhelming shininess of it all. Even her legs look a little plastic.

Despite Rihanna and her stylists' best efforts, this style looks less "dangerous dominatrix" and more "Hot Topic design reject". Come on, you 19 year-old, have some fun, but stay away from the hooker boots and ill-fitting corsets.

I like her legs, and she is always sexy! A brilliant girl she is! And I'm guessing that nobody else noticed that her size CHANGES. She did get quite thin (notice I say thin, not skinny), but sexy! I say if she's gonna goth it up, she has to do the hair and makeup, too. (That is: Siouxsie-style teased spikes, heavy cat-or-Cleopatra eyeliner, black or dark red lipstick.)

I think Rihanna is remarkably pretty, but this look is half one thing and half another, and that's one of several reasons why it doesn't work for me.

As an aside, the whole thing is probably patent leather, rather than PVC: expensive. (Patent is real leather with a high-gloss treatment on the smooth side, and it flexes more.)

I love her voice and she is just absolutely gorgeous but, my god I HATE patent leather...it is sooo ugly! I do not like this "get-up" at all. I think she looks better with longer hair and not this weird emo looking cut.
