Luke Wilson designs for Puma Golf

We've seen him in the role of tennis superstar Richie "the baumer" Tenenbaum, but most people aren't aware that Luke Wilson is actually a kick-butt golfer. In fact, he's listed as one of the Top 40 Hollywood golfers. That's why he teamed up with Swedish golfing sensation Johan Edfors to put together a collection of golf apparel set to be released this spring. The two were selected by Puma to design this summer's chrome collection -- part of a conscious effort to bring some style and "bling" back into the boring world of golf attire.

I never really know just how much celebrity designers actually 'design' the collections that they endorse, but in the case of Wilson and Edfors, I think they actually got a decent amount of creative control. Reportedly, the duo drew inspiration from the classy golfer styles of the 50's.

Edfors, the more fashion forward of the two, favored the bright and shiny color choices in his selection -- after all, he did play the 2007 PGA Championship in camouflage. Wilson, on the other hand preferred a more toned-down, with blacks and dark blues. I don't really play golf, but the couple of times I've tried I felt very lame-looking in my borrowed golf shirt and slacks. So, I guess it would be nice to have some clothing options that didn't make you feel dorky and out of touch.
