A machine-washable evening gown, what every woman needs
Filed under: Fashion, Best of the Season
Last year, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual gala, I got into a huge fight with supermodel Gisele Bundchen. The Brazilian bombshell thought I was trying to make a move on her man, Tom Brady. Things got heated quickly, and the 5'11 stunner hurled red wine in my direction -- completely ruining my vintage Dior couture gown. Upset and embarrassed, I fled back to Texas -- never to return to New York again.Syke! But if I did get into a fierce catfight like the one I just made up, I hope I'm wearing a beautiful Sara Berman evening gown.
The London based designer has teamed up with Lenor -- which makes fabric softener -- to create a machine washable evening gown in support of the company's new Infusions range of fabric conditioners.
On the innovative dress, Sara tells Vogue UK: "Women feel their most seductive when they are in a glamorous evening gown but how often does that happen? We wanted to create a gown that was luxurious without being high-maintenance, one a working woman can wear and then throw in the washing machine and still look fabulous in the next time she wears it. We don't have time to go to the dry cleaners every time we wear something, so we wanted to design a dress that was high-end but that you can take off and pop in the washing machine easily."
Cool, huh? Except, don't get too excited just yet. If you're looking to invest in one of Berman's washable gowns, it's going to set you back a cool $3700. But don't fret.
You can enter here for a chance to win the limited-edition Berman gown as well as a personalized session with top perfumer, Roja Dove, at his Harrods perfumery.
Good luck!
