Contrary to what the weather would lead us to believe, it's actually spring. And on that fine day, when the cold fronts that are brought on by these horrible thunderstorms finally cease, we'll be there -- to greet the warm sun in our favorite pair of over-priced sunglasses and possibly wearing a top or sun dress by Simply Vera.

First, things first: We were less than impressed with Vera Wang's diffusion line with Kohl's last season. The sizing was all out of whack and we didn't like the fact that the collection was geared towards our lovely but middle-aged mothers.

With that, we hesitantly stepped into our local Kohl's a couple of weeks ago to see what Vera was serving up for spring. Plus, we heard everything had been marked down to almost 50% off, so we thought -- what the hell, why not?

And to our surprise, we found several decent looks. The color-blocked tops, tunics, light dresses, and bold print separates all looked modern and fresh. The pieces could have been worked into our wardrobe effortlessly. So, we snagged an adorable floral wrap dress and equally amazing pair of capris. And FYI: The items actually fit our bodies quite nicely.

It's not a major step-up from the bland Simply Vera fall collection, but this spring line has us anticipating what's in store for next fall.
