Tyra's Top Model show in other countries actually creates successful models

Have you ever wondered why Tyra Banks never picks women who actually go on to work as professional models after they win America's Next Top Model? Either there's an ANTM curse, or something funky is going on. Personally, we think that Tyra doesn't really choose her top girl based on her ability to succeed in the fashion industry. We believe there's a greater conspiracy going on to choose women who have better stories and will keep the TV audiences' attention. But, in other countries that's not the case. Top Model shows in several other nations have had their models go on to international success.

Shy yet totally stunning Alice Burdeu from Australia's Next Top Model probably would have been eliminated from America's Next Top Model for lack of self confidence. But, now that the show is over, she has walked in Fashion Weeks all over the world: London, Milan, Paris, New York, Singapore and more. Can you imagine Jaslene Gonzalez doing anything that major?

Ksenia Kahnovich from Russia's Next Top Model has been featured on Style's website and has walked in huge shows like John Galliano. For some reason it seems that these top models from other country have more "high fashion" success than the ANTM winners.

In the U.S., Tyra seems to pick winners that will fair better commercially -- or go on to work in reality TV. Either way, they're not really making it in the couture world. What's the deal?
