Mischa Barton attended a press conference for the 2008 MTV Australia Awards dressed as a gladiator -- and not the hot Russell Crowe kind, unfortunately.

Mischa is one of those celebrities who never fails to absolutely shock and horrify with her wardrobe choices. She is such a beautiful woman. Yet, time after time she has proved that she loves wearing the most unflattering outfits she can find. We just don't get it.


And the continual usage of grandma shoes? Yeah, we don't get that either. We love Mischa -- we just wish we could go all What Not To Wear on her and give her a total wardrobe makeover.

But, after looking through other pictures from the same event and checking out Wyclef Jean and Juliette Lewis' crazy outfits, we're starting to think maybe this was a costume party or something. Because really, that's the only logical explanation there could possibly be for that dress Mischa wore. It's too bad that Eve and Lyndsey Rodrigues dressed cute and normal and blew that theory right out of the water.
