Everyone loves a makeover, because there is always a happy ending. Over at Stylelist, in honor of Mother's Day, they have an amazing series of "Look Five Years Younger" makeovers.

The thing that just blew our minds was how the makeovers demonstrated the power of a good cut and color. Clothes that fit and flattering makeup are important, but well-cared for hair telegraphs to the world that you value and care about yourself.

All four women had crazy, shaggy hair, which is actually the best place to start for an awesome cut. It gives the stylist a lot to work with, so they can go in and shape it exactly the way they want. Three out of the four had a lot of grey, and the colorists gave them all very natural, easy to care for shades. Thank the powers for modern semi-permanent color technology!

The most inspiring makeover, in our opinion, was 40 year old Dru, pictured here. She looks like an aging-hippie-going-on-crazy-old-cat-lady in the "before" pictures. But her after shots are amazing. She's hot! And young!
