Quick Picks: Sarah Jessica Parker wears tropical headgear to Sex and the City premiere
Filed under: CELEBRITY STYLE, Celebrities with Style, Celebrity

We would call her the Chiquita Banana woman, but that's just too easy.
Sarah Jessica Parker showed up at the London premiere of the Sex and the City movie wearing a totally marvelous contraption on her head. The entire outfit from the forehead down really isn't bad at all. We're talking a gorgeous dress, hot shoes, lovely long flowing locks, and pretty makeup. But then all of a sudden your eyes hit the acorn/butterfly neon green art project perched precariously on SJP's melon and so many questions come pouring out.
Are rumors of jealousy between cast members true? If so, maybe this is all part of an evil plot for SJP to steal the limelight once again.
Did SJP just decide to show up in character as Carrie Bradshaw to the premiere? Because this is an outfit that we definitely wouldn't put past her TV alter-ego.
Is this all just one big publicity stunt to get people in the U.S. talking about the movie, even though the producers shunned their original home and didn't premiere the movie in N.Y.C. first?
Does she actually think that looks good, or is the joke on us?

Her dress is super cute but, the other girls look a little embarrassed to be standing next to her with that thing on her head. She always seems to go a little too far with her clothing and accessory choices.
I love you Sarah Jessica Parker...but I hate your "head garden".

I actually kind of love it. I mean... Cynthia Nixon always looks like she smelled something bad, Kristin David wears BASICALLY the same dress to every... thing... I loved SJP's McQueen dress and the Philip Treacy hat? DELICIOUS, man!
Oh, and Kim Catrall's Vivienne Westwood dress is ... not bad.
xoxo.

It's for sure out of the ordinary! I do love SJP's dress...and that hat is marvelous in a kooky kind of way, meaning I would never wear it, but she kinda sorta gets away with it.

I think it works purely because it's the UK and Philip Treacy. Although I can't even begin to imagine when and where I would ever use one of his hats, they are amazing creations, and they do tend to show up at UK gala events. I don't think the look would work the same at the US premiere - fashion is in many ways as much about the scene as it is the outfit, don't you think?

True dat. Although I really and honestly do wonder if she just did it to get more attention than her co-stars. After that whole mess with the poster about how she wanted to be the only one on it, I can't help but look at SJP a little differently.
