  • Big and little polka dots
  • Totally unexpected
  • Use your accessories
  • Be bold
  • Same colors + Multiple patterns = AWESOME
  • Seek similar colors. If your top is striped with yellow and white, find a floral print scarf that contains yellow and white (and some other colors, too). Keeping some sort of consistancy keeps the outfit looking put-together.
  • Pick prints that are somewhat alike, but different sizes. Think big polka dots and small dots. The big pattern should be fairly bold, but keep the small one itty-bitty.
  • When in doubt, go for black and white. These colors are so basic that they make any pattern they're in seem closer to a neutral than that same pattern would with bright colors. So, if you have a dress with just a little black and white in it, but mostly it's a bright paisley, try a black and white print sweater with it.
