Fashion stunners in Cannes

Cannes brings out the best in celebrities. It's all about going man to man in old school red carpet elegance -- only the strong survive. The festival has been going on for about a week now, so we decided it's time to bring you our top picks for best dressed from the first few days of the festival.

Dita Von Teese was stunning in an emerald green gown with purple detailing on the bust at the Roman Polanski 'Wanted and Desired' after party. She never fails to disappoint when it comes to good old fashioned glamor.

While Angelina Jolie didn't do herself any favors by debuting a mumu for the Changeling premiere, her previous red carpet looks from earlier in the week were much better -- the gorgeous, flowing green gown got her into our top 5.

Top 5 best dressed women at Cannes, so far.

  • Sharon Stone
  • Gwyneth Paltrow
  • Angelina Jolie
  • Mischa Barton
  • Dita Von Teese

Sharon Stone didn't look like she just escaped from a mental institute, nor did she slaughter hundreds of animals in order to create her outfit -- that in and of itself earns her a spot on the best dressed list!

And who would have ever thought we'd say this, but Mischa Barton's deep purple, one shoulder number was amazing. She finally wore something that flattered her figure -- we're guessing this means the world will probably end in 2012. What? Don't hate -- it's the Mayan calendar prediction -- and we all know the Mayans were never wrong.

Rounding out the top 5, of course, is Gwyneth Paltrow. Her black cocktail dress really isn't anything out of the ordinary. Actually, paired with flip flops the whole thing would be fine for a backyard summer barbecue. But, with those awesome glammed up gladiator heels, the look goes to a whole new level!
