The nice folks at Stila sent us some samples so we could try their products first hand. We spread the bounty across two bloggers, Kristen Seymour and Cat Lincoln, who will share their reactions with you this week.

First of all, we are huge fans of lip gloss -- it's seriously one of the easiest ways to make yourself look just a little more put together at the last minute. Stila's lip glaze is a best seller, and they call it "an essential addition to any beauty bag."

Upon trying it, we were immediate fans. The click-to-dispense feature kept us from getting any gobs on our lips, the brush made it easy to apply perfectly, and we honestly loved all three shades we were sent -- they weren't blind-me-with-your-shiny-lips glossy, but they added a pop of color and plenty of shine. We tried guava, which is a sheer, rosy brown; brown sugar, a shimmering golden nude; but our favorite was starfruit, a shimmering coral. But, for $22 a pop, they needed to do more than look good upon application.

The color and shine lasted really well. It's a gloss, so it's not going to outlast eating, drinking, or serious makeout sessions, but even after sipping a glass of wine, we noticed we still had a little bit of shine going on. Then again, so did the glass.

It's a little sticky (which is probably exactly why it didn't all come off), but not so sticky that we were afraid of bugs getting stuck in it. The smell and flavor weren't overpowering, but they were pleasant. And, possibly most important, our lips didn't dry out after wearing it for a day, which happens to be a big problem for us with many lower-end lip glosses.

Overall judgment: We can see ourselves making the switch to this as our every day lip color. It's pricier than drugstore brands, but we liked how it made our lips feel, it looked gorgeous, and because of the one-click gloss dispenser, it should last quite a while.
