Stila review: long wear lip color
Filed under: Cosmetics, Product Reviews, Fashion, Beauty, Makeup, Designers & Brands

The nice folks at Stila sent us some samples so we could try their products first hand. We spread the bounty across two bloggers Kristen Seymour and Cat Lincoln, who will share their reactions with you this week.
Our second Stila product for review was Long Wear Lip Color. We've admitted before that we're lazy about reapplying lip color, so we were excited to try one that purported to be a soft-on-the lips hybrid gloss, with serious staying power.
We rotated the three colors over the course of a week:
- Serenade -- golden red (weekend brunch color)
- Coquette -- pink mauve (tasteful day wear)
- Rendezvous -- brown reddish (dramatic night out)
- Nice pigment quality, with sheer-but-visible color
- Surprisingly delicious vanilla-ish flavor and scent
- Smooth, not gloppy feeling
- Great, easy to use long, narrow applicator
- More like "regular wearing" vs long wearing, on us anyway
- Even though it didn't feel greasy, we got a ton of yucky lipmarks on drinking glasses
- The colors were only okay, as in no waiters told us we looked great
Overall judgment: For $18, we might try one more color, the currently sold out "flushed -- cool pink," because it tastes so good and we like the applicator so much. We'll use the colors we have when we notice them in our makeup kit, but probably won't carry any of them in our handbag as a "go to" lipstick.
